Small Green Shoots have announced their upcoming fundraising event, Small Green Street, in celebration of the organisation’s 15 year anniversary on 25th July 2024.
Taking inspiration from Small Green Shoots first anniversary garden party in their Chalton Street office, the young employees of the organisation will put their own spin on the theme to showcase what music and culture means to them today. Headlined by DJ Izzy Bossy, Small Green Street will be a Chalton Street takeover featuring live music from alumni DJ’s, pop-ups including tooth gems, grillz, barbers, nail art, food and drinks plus more, as well as funfair style games and a raffle featuring exciting prizes from some of the organisation’s partners.
Guests at the event will also have the opportunity to purchase Small Green Shoots’ exclusive anniversary t-shirt, designed by one of their current content trainees and graphic designer, Tyrese Maguna, with all proceedings being donated to their £25,000 fundraising target.
Small Green Shoots is a Camden based, youth led Charity founded by Music Week’s Campaigner of the Year, Natalie Wade, who are committed to enhancing career opportunities for underrepresented young adults in the music and creative industries. Their achievements over the past 15 years include placing over 200 talented young people in jobs within the sector including their current managing director, Makeda Mcmillan, who was one of their first ever alumni.
Along with this, Small Green Shoots have secured over £1.7 million of early-stage funding for artists such as Jorja Smith, Mahalia, Hamzaa, Berwyn, The Compozers, Snap Capone, Benny Mails, Frisco and more, and collaborated with brands such as Dr Martens, Relentless Energy Drinks and most recently record label, Atlantic Records to create a partnership in line with their Short Sharp Shot programme.
