Shoe Moves In 2022

We’re into week 3 of the new year and most people have made their lists for the year; goals, things to do, new things to try and things to buy, you know the drill. Don’t act like you didn’t make one! It’s no different when it comes to shoes. All the sneaker pages are giving sneak peaks of colour ways, collabs, re-retro’s and new releases. From what we’ve seen so far there is some heat coming! Here’s what caught our eyes on our list of the top drops to cop in a very busy 2022. What’s on your list?

Nike

A spotlight shoe, a comeback and lots of collaborations. It’s never a dull year from the Swoosh. 2021 the Blazers saw all the cuts and colours. 2022 the SB Dunk Low’s will be Nike’s golden child and we’ll see a tonne of collabs and a multitude of fresh colour ways, some dipped in paisley. Silver bullets make a comeback after 5 years and we welcome the Waffle One lifestyle shoe as the new addition to the family. Tom Sachs also has his take on the ‘General Purpose’ shoe so keep an eye out for that. These are just a few of the releases to keep an eye on to so stay locked in on the upcoming tab in SNKRS app.

Yeezy

The risqué foam runners proved Ye is going through the range to cover every shoe category possible or just any shoe he wants. The next evolution of the Yeezy has been revealed, now enter the high top 1020. Will it work for Ye? Expect other colours for this along with other shoes from across the range. One of the stand outs being the Pure Oat. We saw the 350 Beluga’s and Blue Tint’s return so expect another re-retro of some classics. Reflective? Infrared? Turtle Dove? Who knows.

Jordan

Each year Jordan brand goes into its archive of classics and re-retro’s a few pairs to remind the sneaker world how timeless they are. 2022 is no exception. There are a few grails lined up and you’re not going to want to miss a beat. From what we’ve seen, this year are the Fire Red 3’s, UNC 6’s,  Playoff 12’s and the annual 11. There’s some new iterations of the Jordan 1’s coming too, not just in colours but also in actual shoe itself. Low’s, OG High’s, Zoom CMFT and Mid’s, yes the Mid’s. There’s a lot of heat coming from the Jump Man this year and it’s still early so maybe even a surprise or two.

Collaborations

2021 was a breakout year for collaborations and not just in the shoe game. Gucci and Balenciaga was the first time two luxury powerhouses joined forces. Kaws x Sacai x Nike set the tone for a rare trifecta of brand stacking and 2022 looks to carry on this momentum to be an even bigger year! Union LA, Quartersnacks, Louis Vuitton & Off White are penned for a Nike collab. Bape will be suiting up with Reebok and Prada x adidas will be trying to grab headlines. For skaters, aside from SB Dunks look out for CDG x Vans and expect Palace and Supreme to drop something with their usual shoe collaborators. Don’t be surprised if New Balance come out with something funky. The subcategory is here to stay and each time there’s a release we know a three things. Numbers are limited, it won’t be straight forward to get and it automatically has heightened hype value.

Getting a hold of these won’t always be a walk in the park but for anything you might miss, visit Stock X for your best chance to stay on top of the shoe game in the official verified after market.
