SAVOUR SUMMER WITH UBER BUBBLES IN FRANCE!

Uber Bubbles, launching in France as the first ever champagne tour bookable directly in the Uber app, is the latest exclusive experience in the brand’s ‘Go Anywhere’ Series of travel products. It will be available all summer long, offering riders one of Europe’s most premium and iconic travel experiences with the tap of a button.

Available exclusively in the Uber app, we’re thrilled to launch this magical experience in partnership with beloved champagne houses Perrier-Jouët and G.H. Mumm. Travellers and locals alike will have the opportunity to experience the best of the region with the added comfort of a safe, private, luxury Uber vehicle.

“We are thrilled to partner with Uber this summer to offer riders the chance to discover our Champagne Houses via Uber Bubbles. This is the perfect opportunity for travellers to enjoy the very best of our ‘bubbly’ experiences, including our beautiful cuvées, elevated gastronomy, and exceptional grounds, both in Épernay with Maison Perrier-Jouët and in Reims with G.H. Mumm.”

François-Xavier Morizot, VP Champagne for G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët

The full day trip includes a pickup in Paris in an Uber Bubbles-branded Tesla, with the first stop along the journey a champagne tasting of three cuvées and lunch at Perrier-Jouët’s Cellier Belle Époque in Épernay. Afterwards, riders will be whisked to Maison G.H. Mumm in Reims for a special cellar visit and a Cordon Rouge tasting before heading back to Paris for dropoff in the early evening.

Reservations for the summer will become available exclusively in the Uber app on June 1, and will be bookable 75 days to 24 hours in advance via Uber Reserve. Uber Bubbles will run on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer, from June 7 to August 17. The experience will cost a €200 flat fee, and can accommodate up to four guests.

Uber Bubbles launches just in time for France’s biggest summer of travel, with more than 15 million people expected to visit Paris – 30% higher than a standard summer. With so many tourists expected throughout the season, Uber is preparing tactically to meet demand.

“With more than 15M visitors expected in Paris this summer, we wanted to curate a seamless day trip from Paris to escape the frenzy and enjoy one of the most iconic regions in France,” said Laureline Serieys, General Manager Uber France. “With Uber Bubbles, we’re putting the heart of France’s champagne region at your fingertips. In partnership with Perrier-Jouët and G.H. Mumm, the experience offers Uber riders a full day trip to Reims & Épernay, inclusive of two tastings and lunch, with the added comfort of a safe, private, premium Uber vehicle.”

Over the last year, France has become an increasingly popular destination for Uber riders. Uber now partners with 40,000 PHV drivers and 2,500 taxi drivers, and operates in 32 cities in France, including top summer tourist destinations across the wine region and the South of France.

The addition of Uber Bubbles to the app is the latest in a series of new travel experiences built to help riders go anywhere with Uber. It follows the launch of many other multimodal and bucket-list travel experiences, including Uber Balloon in Cappadocia, Uber Boat in Mykonos, Uber Sleigh in Lapland, as well as flights, trains, coaches and even hotels all available to book directly via the Uber app.

Availability of Uber Bubbles trips is expected to be limited. Riders looking to book a tour are encouraged to book in advance using the Uber Reserve function in the app a minimum of 24 hours prior to departure.

Uber Cruise – With the river Seine taking center stage this summer, we want to offer our riders the opportunity to enjoy a stylish, entertaining and sustainable experience.

  • Uber Cruise is the first-ever Uber boat tour in Paris, offering riders a 1-hour private cruise with a skipper aboard fully electric boats.
  • Admire Paris’ most beautiful monuments from the iconic Seine, with refreshing summer drinks and great music on board, at no cost!

Olympic Pickup & Dropoff Zones – To help riders, drivers and the flow of traffic, we’ll have designated pickup and dropoff locations throughout the city center and at CDG airport, where we expect highest demand.

Go Green for the Games – We’ll get more people into shared, electric, and even car-free options, like e-bikes, and make it affordable to do so.

  • Paris leads the way in terms of green mobility and Uber is contributing to decarbonizing the city. Thanks to our diesel phasing out program, we have moved from 85% diesel cars in 2020 to just 15% today. We are well positioned to reach 0 diesel by end of year as per our commitment and ahead of the diesel ban that will be implemented by the Paris City Hall
  • Experts forecast a few days with high pollution in Paris this summer. To do our part, we will set up a 50% discount on Uber Green, UberX Share and Lime e-bikes every time public administration Airparif releases a pollution alert (June 21 – Sept 20).

Global Safety Center – Our 24/7 Global Security Center is prepared in the event of a serious safety incident. Uber’s security team will put a cap on surge pricing, and share critical safety information directly from local emergency management agencies, in-app, with riders.
