Her endorsement adds to the growing list of celebrity fans who have praised the show for redefining what a live music experience can be.
What Is ABBA Voyage?
Since opening on 26 May 2022, ABBA Voyage has been widely celebrated as a landmark moment in music and entertainment. Hosted at the purpose-built ABBA Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the show merges cutting-edge digital technology with live performance.
The concert features digital avatars of ABBA’s original members — Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad — performing alongside a live band in a 100-minute spectacle.
Directed by Baillie Walsh and produced by Svana Gisla and Ludvig Andersson, the show reimagines the band as 21st-century pop stars, blending nostalgia with next-generation visuals.
A Groundbreaking Live Experience
The digital versions of ABBA were created in collaboration with Industrial Light & Magic, the legendary visual effects studio known for its work in film. The project involved months of motion capture and performance work, supported by a team of over 850 specialists.
The ABBA Arena itself is a feat of engineering, boasting:
- Capacity for 3,000 fans
- 291 speakers delivering 870,000 watts of audio
- Over 500 moving lights mapped across 30,000 points
This state-of-the-art setup creates a fully immersive environment that blurs the line between physical and digital performance.
Cultural and Economic Impact
Since its launch, ABBA Voyage has attracted over three million visitors, contributing an estimated £1.51 billion to the London economy. It remains a must-see attraction, with London currently the only place in the world where fans can experience the show.
