Fans of hit TV adventure series Race Across the World can now step straight into the action as Race Across the World: The Experience expands to three new UK cities: Bristol, Edinburgh and York.
Created by CityDays in partnership with Studio Lambert, the immersive live experience transforms each city into a high-stakes, puzzle-filled race where teamwork, strategy and quick thinking are essential to win.
Following hugely popular runs in London and Manchester, the new locations offer fresh routes, brand-new challenges and even more opportunities to explore iconic landmarks and hidden corners in an entirely different way.
A Real-Life Race Across the City
Much like the TV show, teams are dropped into an unfamiliar urban environment and given a mission: race across the city as quickly and efficiently as possible while managing a limited budget.
Players must decide how to spend their in-game cash wisely—unlocking clues, choosing routes and navigating between checkpoints. Every decision matters, as strategy can be the difference between victory and defeat.
Each team’s performance is measured not only by speed but also by how much budget they retain, creating a balance between risk-taking and careful planning.
Scores are updated on a live leaderboard throughout the day and week, with daily and weekly champions crowned based on overall performance.
Explore Bristol, Edinburgh & York Like Never Before
The experience is split into three immersive “legs,” taking players on a 4–5km walking adventure lasting around 2–3 hours.
Across each city, participants will encounter a mix of well-known landmarks, cultural hotspots and hidden gems, each serving as a checkpoint where escape-room-style puzzles must be solved to continue the journey.
Bristol Highlights
In Bristol, players will navigate past landmarks such as Bristol Cathedral, the Corn Exchange, Temple Gardens and Princes Wharf, uncovering clues that guide them through the city’s vibrant streets.
Edinburgh Highlights
In Edinburgh, teams will race through historic locations including Edinburgh Castle, the Grassmarket and the Scott Monument, experiencing the city’s rich heritage while solving increasingly complex challenges.
York Highlights
In York, adventurers will explore The Shambles, York Minster and Dean’s Park, uncovering hidden stories and tackling puzzles rooted in the city’s medieval history.
