Set in Roman-era Egypt, the film follows a carpenter, his wife, and their teenage son as their faith is tested by forces beyond comprehension. But when they stop in a small village, their fragile peace is shattered as a mysterious young girl (Isla Johnston, The Queen’s Gambit) draws Jesus into a world of forbidden temptation. Drawing from his Coptic Christian upbringing and the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, Nathan explores an unrecorded chapter in the life of Jesus — his lost boyhood during exile.
