LINDAHLS PROTEIN LAUNCHES ‘GOOD MOVERS’ COMPETITION WITH £10,000 PRIZE FOR BRITAIN’S BEST SPONTANEOUS DANCERS

High-protein dairy brand Lindahls Protein is encouraging the nation to embrace joyful movement with the launch of its new ‘Good Movers’ competition, giving participants the chance to win a huge £10,000 cash prize simply by sharing their spontaneous dance moves online.

The campaign comes after new research commissioned by the brand revealed that Brits are regularly incorporating unplanned dancing and movement into everyday life — with many saying it has a positive impact on their mood, stress levels and overall wellbeing.

New Research Reveals Britain Loves a ‘Kitchen Boogie’

According to the survey of 2,000 UK adults, 86% of respondents said spontaneous movement either significantly or moderately improves their mood and helps reduce stress.

Even more notably, 81% believe that a few minutes of enjoyable movement can offer similar wellbeing benefits to a longer, structured workout.

The research also found that the kitchen has become the nation’s favourite impromptu dance floor, with 56% of Brits admitting they enjoy a weekly “kitchen boogie”.

Other surprising dance hotspots included:

  • Brushing teeth or showering (42%)
  • Cleaning around the house (53%)
  • Supermarket aisles (19.8%)
  • Doing laundry (29%)
  • In the car (38%)
  • At work desks (16%)

Dr Peter Lovatt Highlights the Benefits of Joyful Movement

Renowned movement and wellbeing specialist Dr Peter Lovatt supported the findings, explaining how spontaneous movement can have genuine mental health benefits.

He said the research “strongly reinforces the psychological benefits of spontaneous, joyful movement,” adding that short bursts of uninhibited activity can help release endorphins, reduce stress hormones and improve overall mood.

Lovatt also noted that humans naturally crave movement and self-expression, which explains why so many people connect with activities like “kitchen boogies” and “chore-cise”.

Fitness Creator Alice Living Joins the Conversation

Fitness creator and wellness personality Alice Living has also backed the campaign, sharing her own connection to dance.

Known online as @aliceliving, she explained that dancing has been part of her life since childhood and remains a daily habit, whether it’s a quick morning dance session or a way to power through stressful moments at home.
