LEGENDARY BRITISH MUSIC ACT RUDIMENTAL TO HEADLINE BIG GAME 16

Harlequins Rugby Club has announced legendary dance music group Rudimental as the headline entertainment act for Big Game 16 on Saturday, 28 December at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Celebrated as one of the most successful dance music acts of the past decade, Rudimental, has sold over 25 million singles, three million albums worldwide, and amassed five billion audio streams, including #1 global anthem ‘Feel the Love’ with Jon Newman, platinum-selling ‘Waiting All Night’ with Ella Ayre and ‘These Days’ which has racked up over 1 billion streams alone worldwide.

The dynamic East Londoners will form a key element of an incredible day of entertainment for all the family with a blockbuster rugby doubleheader at the Home of English Rugby, with Harlequins Women opening the event against Leicester Tigers at 15:00pm, before the Men’s teams reignite their rivalry in the Gallagher Premiership against Leicester Tigers at 18:00pm.

“We’re absolutely buzzing to be performing at Big Game 16! The energy and passion of rugby fans is famous, and we’re excited to contribute to the electrifying atmosphere that only a day like this can create. We know that Big Game is a key highlight of the British festive season, being the highest-attended stadium event in the country, so we’re planning to continue the Christmas celebrations and spread some festive party energy to a packed-out Twickenham Stadium.”

Fans will have the chance to experience a unique 30-minute set with an electrifying laser light show ahead of the Men’s match kicking off, with Rudimental performing in the middle of the pitch right into the teams running out to pyrotechnics.

This will be the latest of iconic shows from Rudimental, who have performed at the legendary pyramid stage at Glastonbury, stole the show at the Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace, brought the heat to the inaugural final of The Hundred at Lord’s, and most recently, electrified fans at the F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone this summer.

Big Game, now in its 16th year, is the largest annual club rugby match in the world, and the fastest ever selling event to date, with an 82,000 sell out anticipated for an action-packed day of sports and family entertainment.

In 2023, the Women’s fixture broke the world record for the highest attendance at a women’s club rugby match. Just months ahead of the 2025 Women’s World Cup in England next August, Harlequins is predicting another record-breaking crowd with over 20,000 expected to see some of the biggest and most exciting names in rugby, including Red Roses stars Ellie Kildunne and Lucy Packer.

“World class musical acts have been a key part of the Big Game experience since day one and Rudimental are the perfect act to electrify the crowd. After recent brilliant performances from the likes of Pete Tong, Faithless and Joel Corry, I can assure fans we have another brilliant performance ahead. And if you thought last year’s remarkable laser light show was spectacular, wait until you see what we have in store this year! Rudimental’s legendary status in the music industry speaks for itself and their music has the power to energise and unite audiences, just like rugby. Having them join us for this iconic event is no doubt going to elevate the whole event and we can’t wait to see fans come together to celebrate this special day and create lasting memories. With the iconic walkover, two high quality rugby matches, Rudimental live, a range of food and beverage outlets and free fairground rides, we really have a brilliant festive day out for everyone.”

Harlequins CEO Laurie Dalrymple

Besides the two exceptional rugby games and an array of top-notch entertainment, families, and visitors to Big Game 16, can expect a fun-filled afternoon with free fairground rides in the West Fan Village, a pyro and laser light show, and a wide selection of food and drinks.

Big Game 16 general sale tickets are available to buy today, priced from just £38 for Adults and £25 for Under 18’s.
