Tired of the same old Christmas tunes? Move over outdated and monotonous yuletide songs, there’s a new anthem coming to town.
Mixing up the music, Twix partners with grime legend D Double E and Nella Rose to drop the first-ever Twixmas hit, “Twixmas Time”. Bringing grime vibes, the anthem is the perfect antidote to usual Christmas suspects, celebrating doing and wearing what you want between Christmas and New Year – aka ‘Twixmas’.
Research from Twix reveals that a third of Brits (30%) say it’s been years since there was a good Christmas song.
So, it’s no surprise that a fifth of Brits (20%) admit they get sick of hearing Christmas music by mid-December and nearly a fifth (17%) think festive tunes should stop playing altogether by the 26th.
But that doesn’t mean the festive spirit has to end, as over half of Brits (54%) think that the time between Christmas Day and New Year is a celebration in itself.
It’s a time synonymous with self-care – stats show Brits expect to spend Twixmas relaxing (52%) and binge-watching their favourite TV shows (23%).
D Double E, UK music legend, DJ and co-creator of ‘Twixmas Time’ said,
“Kick back, relax and enjoy the chill vibes at Twixmas. We’ve flipped the script on festive tracks to show you lot how to do Twixmas this year, with the only tune you need.”
New stats show that during Twixmas the nation is so disconnected with their routines that 20% admit to losing track of time between Christmas and New Year. Wear PJ’s all day. Go to bed when you want. It’s time to embrace the chill, because as D Double E and Nella Rose say, ‘Twixmas time, you can do what you want’.
Nella Rose, media personality featuring on ‘Twixmas Time’ said,
“This is the soundtrack to your post-Christmas party. We wanted to show you that you can turn up and have fun, without having to go anywhere or do anything.”
The TikTok tune brings new sounds to this post-Christmas period, as stats reveal that Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ and ‘Mistletoe’ by Justin Bieber, top the list of songs Brits never want to hear again.
Laura Boothroyd, Leading Mars Wrigley’s Festive Season said,
“The unique Twixmas period reminds us that sometimes, the best gift is to simply unwind. From uninterrupted naps, to finally spending time on your hobbies, to having a laugh with the family. We hope that ‘Twixmas Time’, will encourage everyone to embrace the simple joys at this time of year.’
To celebrate the nation hitting pause, Twix invites Brits to join the Twixmas movement by tuning into the Twixmas track on TikTok to share how they’re slaying #Twixmas.
