Introducing the New Scalp Savior from Head and Shoulders

It’s no secret that the past few weeks the weather has been…fresh! With most of us hunkered down with the central heating blasting, it’s no surprise our skin is acting up.

In the winter the cold weather and excessive dry heat (and comfort eating) can all increase tightness and a dry scalp – the result, your hair can be left looking lifeless, frizzy and dull and is more prone to breakage and falling out. The scalp is skin, after all – so we owe it a luxurious regime.

Dr. Alia Ahmed, a psychodermatologist and Head & Shoulders ambassador explains how “our scalps are home to some microscopic neighbours. One of these, a fungus called Malassezia, can be especially problematic as it damages the skin’s natural moisture barrier.” She also notes that “people often try moisturising products to treat a dry scalp – but without addressing the real problem, Malassezia, they’re not enough to provide lasting relief. So, scientists at Head & Shoulders went deep, to truly understand the root cause of the issue.”

Clearly, calp health is closely linked to our hair health and has a huge impact on it. This is the inspiration behind NEW Head & Shoulders DERMAXPRO, a 3-step regime to care for a dry scalp. The shampoo, conditioner, and first-ever scalp balm act together to fortify the scalp-skin barrier, lock in moisture, and leave the scalp feeling nourished and flake-free. Unlike ordinary moisturising shampoos, the Head & Shoulders DERMAXPRO regime adds Piroctone Olamine, an active ingredient to help provide lasting relief against dryness and flakes. The products are also enriched with Vitamin E and active Aloe which are known in the skincare industry for helping to repair, hydrate, and soothe damaged skin.

The new scalp balm comes with a precision nozzle application to help you reach your scalp’s driest spots. All you have to do is apply the balm to pre-washed hair and let it sit on the scalp for three minutes before rinsing it off.
