Iconic Swatch Lands at Selfridges

The iconic Swatch has landed in London’s premier department store, Selfridges – a match made in fashion heaven. Known for some of the biggest watch trends in recent times, just about everyone has owned a Swatch at some point, and if they haven’t, they’re sure to know someone who has. Combining art, innovation, technology and not to be missed collaborations (think NASA, Disney, James Bond and BAPE to name just a few) they really do sit comfortably at the top of their game. Moving with trends in not just fashion but lifestyle,  puts Swatch at the forefront of what people want before they even know they want it.

The immersive music-scene inspired space in Selfridges places you in the midst of a packed gig surrounded by sound, tech and colour, familiar surroundings yet still exciting as you don’t know what might come next, very much like Swatch. Accommodating over 300 watches there really is something for everyone and their current statement range – the Big Bold Bioceramic is certainly no exception to the Swatch rule of always looking to push the boundaries of design.

The Big Bold is made with two-thirds ceramic, one-third bio-sourced plastic (plastic made from renewable resources). It is both resilient and resistant without feeling stiff or rigid and feels silky smooth to touch. What’s more, due to the nature of the material, there’s no risk of sweaty wrists and skin irritations often associated with plastic straps. It’s certainly a win, win all round and best of all, they look absolutely stunning.

Combining the Swatch signature oversized face, and with the mechanism on show, the Big Bold stands out as sleek, simple but eye catching making them a firm must-have for anyone’s watch collection. There are five colours to choose from; classic black or white, on trend grey, optimistic sky blue and power pink. I won’t lie, it’s hard to choose and all are on my wish list! Stand warned, once this is on your wrist, you won’t want to take it off, and attention will be drawn, but this is obviously to be expected with the mastery of Swatch.

To see and experience the range for yourselves, get down to Swatch at Selfridges which is located on the first floor in the men’s department. You can find out more about Swatch by visiting www.swatch.com
