GHOSTLY SIGHTINGS: YVETTE FIELDING REVEALS SPOOKIEST HOMES CAUGHT ON RING

Just in time for Halloween, Ring and Most Haunted star, Yvette Fielding, have come together to unveil the UK’s spookiest homes as captured in chilling detail on Ring cameras.

Last month, Ring and Yvette put a nationwide call out for the British public to submit footage of possible paranormal encounters in their home. Several have now been crowned by Yvette as some of the spookiest homes in the UK.

The request came following research commissioned by Ring that revealed 40% of Brits believe in paranormal activity. Two thirds (68%) that witnessed paranormal activity have experienced it more than twice, with 62% of incidents occurring in the home.

After reviewing the evidence, Yvette Fielding narrowed down the entries to select one winning video and two runner ups. Rebecca Reeves from Preston’s video was deemed the spookiest, as a mysterious orb was caught gliding across her kitchen on her Ring device.

Commenting on the video, Rebecca said: “I think it’s an orb with the way it glides in the room. I didn’t feel uneasy about it because I’m not really sure what it is. I did look online about orbs and their nature, and didn’t read anything negative about them, so that did make me think maybe it’s a relative keeping an eye on our pet dog Albus whilst we popped out.”

She goes on to explain her experience: “I do suffer with sleep paralysis at times so I never know if it’s that that is causing me to experience things, such as the feel of someone being in the room with me or feeling like someone is sat on the end of the bed.”

Dawn Gallagher from Glasgow also shared footage of a strange orb roaming around her conservatory, coming towards her Ring Indoor Camera before floating away.

Speaking about the footage she explained: “To us and everyone I’ve shown the video to, it looks like a white orb with a trail. At the time my partner Alex and I were quite shocked as it didn’t look like an insect. And it set off the Ring movement notification. This was the first time we have caught anything paranormal on our Ring devices.”

Rose and Paul Lynch from Hampshire captured a disembodied voice on their Ring Battery Video Doorbell:Paul was leaving for work early in the morning, we live in a culdesac and we know all our neighbours and their voices and it wasn’t any of them. We do have a small play area elevated above in front of the house which backs onto fields (fenced) we also tried to debunk if someone had been up there but you cannot hear voices from that distance on the Ring doorbell.

They added: “It sounds like someone saying ‘Morning mate’. but there is no one there and you can see Paul responds automatically and then looks around puzzled as he can’t see anyone and the voice sounds close, like it’s right behind him. As soon as he got in his work van parked just to the right of the video, he called me and asked me to check the Ring doorbell as he was a little freaked out!”

Commenting on the orb videos, Yvette says: “The light anomalies caught on the Ring device are interesting. The fact that there is only one on its own in each video makes this footage fascinating as it could be the first stage of a ghost manifestation and worthy of further investigation”.

On the mysterious voice, Yvette comments: “It can be quite daunting hearing an unexpected voice at your door, even more so when there’s nobody there. Hearing disembodied voices is a sign of a potential haunting within or around the home, so there could very well be something paranormal occurring here.”

Yvette has also shared a list of criteria to look out for if you think your home may be haunted this Halloween:

  • Unexplained knocking or ringing of the doorbell
  • Disembodied voices heard
  • Knocking, banging and tapping sounds coming from the walls, ceiling or floor
  • Footsteps heard walking around the house
  • Furniture moving on its own
  • Electrical appliances turning themselves on and off
  • Water suddenly flowing from showers and taps
  • Puddles of mysterious water appearing

If you do have a strong feeling that there is a spiritual visitor in your home, don’t let it ruin your Halloween. Yvette has shared her practical advice on tackling paranormal activity as the nights get darker:

  • Talk to it: The very first thing to do is to talk out loud to the spirit in the house. You need to be firm, direct but respectful. You must let them know that they are scaring you and must stop their activities. Talk to them as if they are really there. Ask them politely to stop and that you mean them no harm or disrespect.
  • Capture the incident on video: Place more recording devices like Ring Indoor Camera around the house to capture any audio or visual paranormal activity.
  • Diarise the events: Keep a diary of all strange events in the household. This can be shared with a professional later on if they require it.
  • Call in the professionals: If this doesn’t help then call in a professional paranormal investigation group. Make sure you do your research before engaging a company. They need to have had lots of experience in these matters.

Ring customers can use their Ring devices for more than just security, including monitoring for ghostly activity this Halloween. The new Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera provides customers with 360° horizontal pan and 169° vertical tilt coverage, ideal for spotting any spooky activity.

When subscribed to a Ring subscription plan, all events are recorded and customers can download, save and rewatch footage up to 180 days later to share with friends and family, allowing customers to capture all mysterious moments that may otherwise be missed.
