Luxury fashion house Coach has officially stepped deeper into the world of gaming, announcing the launch of its co-created, open-access designer collection in The Sims 4.
Available globally from January 13, the drop brings Coach’s signature style directly into one of the world’s most creative and inclusive virtual communities.
The collaboration introduces wearable items from Coach’s ready-to-wear line, alongside the brand’s iconic Tabby and Brooklyn bags, reimagined for The Sims 4 base game. Also included is a unique “Coach Trunk” Heirloom Object, which unlocks mood-driven, pre-styled outfits for Sims, encouraging players to experiment with identity, emotion and personal storytelling.
Fashion Meets Self-Expression in Gaming
With more than 25 years of player-led creativity, The Sims franchise has long been a hub for self-expression, making it a natural fit for Coach’s brand ethos, “The Courage to Be Real.” The new collection allows players to extend that philosophy into virtual spaces where fashion and identity are endlessly customisable.
The in-game drop features nine distinct items with 65 print and colour variations, enabling players to create hundreds of unique looks. Beyond clothing, the Tabby and Brooklyn bags are also available as decorative Build Mode objects, allowing Sims’ homes to reflect Coach’s distinctive design language.
The Coach Trunk and Mood-Driven Style
A standout feature of the collaboration is the Coach Trunk, an Heirloom Object designed to unlock curated outfits tied to specific Sims moodlets. This mechanic links fashion directly to emotional storytelling, reinforcing how clothing can reflect — and shape — a character’s journey within the game.
By making the entire collection freely accessible within the base game, Coach avoids exclusivity and paywalls, aligning with the inclusive spirit of The Sims 4 community.
Coach on Creativity, Identity and Digital Worlds
“Coach has always believed that fashion is more than what you wear — it’s how you express who you are,” said Kimberly Wallengren, VP of Marketing, North America, at Coach. “With The Sims 4, we saw a natural space to bring our purpose, The Courage to Be Real, to life in a community where style, multi-faceted identity, storytelling and self-expression already convene.”
She added that video games now function as a creative canvas, allowing brands to meet players on their own terms rather than imposing traditional fashion rules.
Giovanni Zaccariello, SVP Global Visual Experience at Coach, echoed this sentiment:
“Our goal is always to design with self-expression at the centre, whether through physical collections or in the digital worlds where younger generations spend more time. Through collaborations like The Sims 4, we’re exploring how fashion can evolve across both physical and virtual spaces.”
A Growing Presence in Gaming Culture
The Coach x The Sims 4 collection follows a series of video game activations from the brand, signalling a wider strategy to expand beyond traditional fashion spaces. By embracing interactive and digital experiences, Coach continues to extend its 80-year heritage of storytelling into platforms where new generations already play, create and connect.
