Clarks Originals is celebrating the third annual Wallabee Day with the launch of its new global campaign, Worn by the World—a powerful tribute to one of fashion’s most enduring and recognisable silhouettes.
Originally designed in Somerset, the Wallabee™ has grown far beyond its British roots, becoming a staple across generations, cultures and subcultures. From Britpop icons to Jamaican dancehall scenes, Tokyo street style to New York hip-hop, the shoe has quietly shaped global fashion without ever chasing trends.
For 2026, Clarks Originals shifts its perspective outward, spotlighting the people who have made the Wallabee what it is today. Worn by the World reframes the shoe not just as footwear, but as a universal symbol of self-expression and cultural identity.
Captured by London-based photographer and director Carina Lammers, the campaign embraces a stripped-back aesthetic that focuses on individuality, stance and authenticity. A diverse cast—spanning ages, professions and backgrounds—takes centre stage, with each subject portrayed instinctively, placing the Wallabee at the heart of their everyday story.
From businessmen to skaters, pensioners to ravers, the campaign reflects a true cross-section of modern life, demonstrating how one silhouette can move seamlessly between worlds while remaining entirely distinct.
At its core, Worn by the World celebrates permanence in an ever-changing cultural landscape. The Wallabee doesn’t follow relevance—it builds it over time.
Art Meets Heritage
To mark Wallabee Day, Clarks Originals has also collaborated with British artist Nick Dynan (aka Me.Old.China), known for his bold graphic and typographic work. The partnership sees the Wallabee reimagined through a contemporary creative lens, bridging heritage craftsmanship with modern design.
As part of the collaboration, a series of exclusive Jesmonite Wallabee sculptures have been created using silicon moulds and hand-painted in three high-gloss colourways. Fans will have the chance to win three of these limited-edition pieces via the brand’s Instagram throughout April.
New Wallabee 2604 Drops for 2026
Alongside the campaign, Clarks Originals is releasing a special edition Wallabee 2604 to celebrate Wallabee Day on April 26. The updated silhouette arrives in two premium patent leather finishes—bold silver and deep navy—offering a fresh take on the classic design.
Each pair comes with exclusive Wallabee Day fobs and multiple lace options, including flat tonal, round white fleck and round white stripe laces, allowing for personalised styling.
The Wallabee 2604 will be available in both adult and kids’ sizes:
- Wallabee 2604 (Men’s & Women’s) – £130 (Silver & Navy)
- Wallabee 2604 (Kids) – £50 (Silver & Navy)
The collection also includes the timeless Wallabee Maple Suede, priced at £99, continuing the legacy of the original design.
A Global Icon That Endures
Over the decades, the Wallabee has become more than just a shoe—it’s a global uniform worn across lifestyles, professions and cultures. Whether at work, at rest or on the move, its influence remains unmatched.
With Worn by the World, Clarks Originals reinforces what fans have always known: the Wallabee isn’t just iconic—it’s universal.
