With less than 70 days left until Bahrain testing, we have about 10 weeks to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Formula One season. In the following weeks, we will be discussing what you can expect from each team for the next season.
The 2024 season is set to be exciting, with each team striving to close the gap to Red Bull in the coming year. Today, we take a look at Alpine.
At the end of the 2023 Formula 1 season, the team finished in sixth place with 120 points. Looking toward the 2024 season, the team is planning to improve its performance.
In an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, team principal Bruno Famin shed light on the challenges the team faced this past season.
“We were always faced with the conflict between engine performance and aerodynamics. The more power we gave the engine, the worse it became for the aerodynamics.”
Famin went on to explain that the team plans to improve the energy management software for the engine, saying, “We can improve the energy management software. It won’t give us more horsepower, but it will give us better driving characteristics.”.
The Drivers
Pierre Gasly: Gasly is set to return for his second season with his team for the 2024 season. During the 2023 season, Gasly secured sixty-two points for the team.
Esteban Ocon: Ocon will return for his fourth season with the team, bringing in fifty-eight points for the team in the 2023 season.
Jack Doohan: While there is not much information available about Doohan plans for next year, except that he has decided not to return to F2 for the 2024 season, Doohan started his duties as a reserve driver with the team in 2023.
Team Principal
Interim team principal Bruno Famin will return for the 2024 season. Famin took over the position just before the 2023 summer break, replacing Otmar Szafnauer.
Be sure to come back next week as we look into what we can expect from Aston Martin in the 2024 season.
