80% OF BRITS SAY THAT SMALL DAILY CHANGES DRIVE BIG HEALTH WINS

Ahead of its highly anticipated Unpacked event on July 9th, Samsung is spotlighting a new approach to wellness — one rooted not in drastic changes, but in small, sustainable daily habits.

New research shows that Brits are redefining what it means to be “well”, and the key lies in the small stuff. 80% of UK adults believe that small, daily changes lead to major health benefits over time.

This insight signals in the era of the “micro-habit”, a wellness movement powered by mindfulness, sleep, and regular movement, with 46% saying micro-habits are easier to stick to than sweeping lifestyle overhauls.

This vision of wellness showing the changing mindset of the nation, has been revealed ahead of Galaxy Unpacked, where the next generation of Galaxy devices will be unveiled, reimagined around a new artificial intelligence-powered interface.

Wellness, But Not as You Know It

Today’s consumers are more informed, and more overwhelmed, than ever. The study reveals that 33% of Brits admit that they’re obsessed with tracking their health, yet 32% of those who track their health say they’re overwhelmed by how much health data they’re trying to manage.

Despite this data fatigue, the desire for guidance is clear:

  • 37% track their health to stay motivated
  • 31% feel more in control since using health-tracking tools
  • 41% say wearable tech often helps keep them motivated
  • 83% of Brits say it’s important to see the long-term effects of their health habits

Samsung Galaxy Watch takes the stress out of self-care by helping users focus on what really matters – building small habits that actually stick.

Technology That Tracks, Encourages and Celebrates the Small Wins

With 32% of those who track their health now using a smart watch to monitor their health and 40% relying on smartphone apps, the demand for tech that supports daily habit-building is rising.

In fact, 51% of Brits say they’d likely use a smart watch if it could advise them on the most suitable time to go to bed based on their health patterns which signals that people are looking for smarter support, not just more data.

Samsung is turning cluttered data into meaningful direction with the launch of new features on One UI 8 Watch, including:

  • Running Coach: Running is one of the most accessible fitness activities, and Samsung has long supported runners by offering features that promote consistent training and help users reach their fitness goals. Running Coach can:
    • Help users train safely for marathons through optimised intensity and injury-preventive routines.
    • Offer motivation and real-time guidance, creating a personalised training program based on the runner’s fitness level.
    • Allow users to receive a performance analysis and a running level score from 1 to 10, by wearing the Galaxy Watch and running for 12 minutes. Based on this data, a detailed training plan is generated to support completion of a 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon.
  • Bedtime GuidanceA single night of restful sleep offers immediate health benefits, so setting and maintaining a consistent, optimal bedtime is important. The watch analyses your recent sleep patterns and suggests optimal bedtimes, with reminders to help you stick to them.
  • Vascular LoadThe vascular system carries blood throughout the body to deliver oxygen and nutrients while removing waste, making it a key indicator of heart health. By wearing the Galaxy Watch during sleep, users can receive insights into vascular load and the stress placed on their vascular system.
  • Antioxidant IndexA fast, 5-second scan via a light-activated BioActive sensor measures carotenoid levels in your skin (markers of fruit and vegetable intake), offering immediate insight to reinforce nutrition goals.

In addition to these new features, Samsung’s Energy Score gives customised advice on where to focus based on the previous day’s activities, sleep and heart rate during sleep.

These features bring clarity to key wellness priorities: 52% say that sleep is the top factor they consider in wellbeing, followed by 47% highlighting physical activity. By turning passive metrics into active guidance, the Galaxy Watch supports the micro-habits that people actually commit to such as consistent bedtimes, short walks and breathing breaks.

A New Wellness Mindset

“As we look to the future of health tech, it’s clear that wellbeing won’t just shape the big moments, but it will also guide the everyday ones too. From what time we go to bed to, how we manage stress at work – health and wellbeing is becoming a more conscious part of our day to day lives. It’s no longer about extremes, but consistency,” said Annika Bizon, Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing, Samsung UK & Ireland. “The Galaxy Watch Series helps us build these longer-term habits when every decision we make – whether it’s going for a run, going to sleep or what to eat – is guided by our health.”

Whether you’re looking to achieve better sleep, plan your next running goal, or help improve your overall heart health, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch turns small moments into meaningful progress and helps redefine what it means to be well in 2025.
