Set on the Isle of Wight, this four-day festival running from Thursday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 13 stands out from many other of the festivals offered in the UK and around the world this summer.
Like many other festivals this summer, Bestival boasts an impressive lineup, with a range of sound from top-profile artists like FKA Twigs, Duran Duran, Tame Impala, and Charlie XCX, to name a few. Live music is supplemented with a wide array of DJs to help keep the party atmosphere and the energy level up. However, unlike other music festivals, Bestival has more than just a rocking lineup.
Bestival is different from other festivals because it isn’t just about the music. They also have different areas at the festival, with many opportunities that don’t just involve listening to live music. One area we are excited for is the Ambient Forest, which houses the Amphitheatre. It was one of the most popular stages last year, and we are pumped it is making a comeback. During the day, the Amphitheatre will hold a ton of different events, such as comedy theatre, short plays, and sketch shows. At night, it will be transformed into a cinema playing cult classics, documentaries, and short films.
Another area we are excited for is the Port. According to Bestival’s website,
The Port is a landlocked harbour with HMS Bestival at its centrepiece surrounded by a pier, nautical slideshows, and all the action of a bustling port … in a festival.
The concept of a pier, complete with a ship and nautical themed decorations is a great and unique festival experience.
Bestival is definitely a festival not to be missed this year. With the wide array of events and a great venue in addition to the killer lineup, Bestival 2015 is a festival that should be on everyone’s summer bucket list.
