Where To Go Now: Riverside East

Riverside East has launched as East London’s freshest dining and social space, offering Londoners a dynamic destination to eat, drink, and immerse themselves into an inclusive and exciting programme of activities and activations.

The café, accommodating a whopping 300 visitors, is nestled within the leafy Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, adjacent to the popular ArcelorMittal Orbit attraction which offers 20-mile views over the park and London.

The café menu has been crafted by Lulu Cox, formerly of Rochelle Canteen, Bocca di Lupo and St. John, and aligns with the venue’s core values of sustainability, wellness, and low-waste, partnering with eco-conscious suppliers such as Wildfarmed and Sitopia to enrich its hyper-seasonal menu.

Visitors can kickstart their day with a cup a freshly brewed coffee produced by specialty roasters Allpress Espresso, with food choices ranging from breakfast pots and toasties to artisan pastries and bites such as the Caramelised Onion, Lemon, & Halloumi Slice made by The Snapery Bakery using sustainable regenerative flour from Wildfarmed.

On through the day, there are delicious plates on offer, including Smoked Trout with Hashbrowns, Beetroot Salad with Goat Curd and Smoked Almonds, and Wild Mushroom and Lentil Burgers, while the night will serve up a variety of flavoursome flatbreads to choose from. There are also an abundance of sweet treats available at Riverside East through its partnership with two much-loved local dessert brands – Happy Endings for ice cream sandwiches, and Hackney Gelato for tubs of scrumptious flavours.

Along with the café, guests can also enjoy The Terrace, due to become the perfect summer drink spot with panoramic views of East London. Using Gozney ovens, a menu of pizza and flatbreads will be available to accompany delicious craft beers from local breweries, alongside a curated wine list highlighting low-intervention grapes and a variety of cocktails.

For al-fresco dining and drinks, look no further than The Yard , the 1000-capacity outdoor space which will collate London’s best independent street food and artisanal traders to appear through rotating pop-ups, as well as hosting independent markets and outdoor screenings for this summer’s exciting sports line-up.

The venue will be offering a programme of events for all; locals, families, foodies and students, encompassing art, music and sport, working with local businesses wherever possible. A space in collaboration with popular brand Slow Motion Wellness, will also open in the coming months; offering visitors a form of escapism through a variety of classes and a wild sauna. Riverside East will also be flexing its late license; with evenings packed full of back-to-back DJ sets and energetic events, into the night.

And this isn’t all from this brand new London hotspot – June will see the venue launching a Riverside Weekend Brunch, with Jamie Duvale (former Head Chef at The Ramsey Group) heading up the kitchen, while in Autumn, there is a new restaurant set to open within the grounds.

With its delicious dining and drinking options, commitment to sustainability, and community engagement, Riverside East emerges as a vibrant new hotspot in the East of the capital, undoubtedly captivating visitors and locals alike throughout the summer and beyond.
