The Los Angeles Rams played host to the Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley Stadium last Sunday and thanks to the amazing people at StubHub, Verge was able to enjoy a true fan experience. Both teams were guests as you will for the third NFL London game, where the final score was a closer-than-it looks 24-10.
With the rest of the league off to a blazing start, things got heated quick at Wembley due to an amazing atmosphere at Wembley – Los Angeles looked to keep their momentum going after its win against Atlanta, hoping to finally get their star running back Todd Gurley going.
As for the Bengals, Zac Taylor continues to search for his first win as an NFL head coach. While his team is in a full rebuild, no rookie head coach likes to go this long without winning. No competitor does, regardless of the bigger picture.
Cincinnati Bengals 10 – Los Angeles Rams 24
The story from start to finish was the QB’s and their connection to favourite targets early and often.
Andy Dalton looked more like himself from Cincinnati’s winning days as he finished the day with over 300 yards and a touchdown to Joe Mixon. He targeted Auden Tate 13 times, and Dalton’s go-to receiver finished the day with 65 yards, Even though Jared Goff played well throughout, the “man of the match” was none other than the red hot Cooper Kupp.
7 receptions, 220 yards and was the recipient of a wildly creative trick play that led to his sole touchdown catch. The double-reverse pass from Goff to Kupp was truly the play of the day, Todd Gurley continues to play well through injury. While still plagued by arthritis in his knee, Gurley finished with 44 yards and a touchdown on only 10 carries, He had zero receptions.
The Rams moved to 5-3 and play in Pittsburgh next week, while Cincinnati hosts the Ravens and will again fight for their first win of the season.
As for London hosting the NFL, the league sends over their final game of the season for the UK city.
The London favourite Jacksonville Jaguars will play the Houston Texans in an AFC South matchup that’s filled with plenty of playoff implications.
We would like to say thanks again to StubHub for providing an amazing experience. Be sure to check them out for all your NFL needs, as well as tickets for all other sporting and non-sporting events as well.
