As exam season looms, the families and friends of those sitting their dreaded Finals can help by planning a special celebratory meal to look forward to on the day of Graduation. Please see below a selection of restaurants and bars – in London and beyond – in which to toast to the culmination of university days and educational success!

Simpson’s in the Strand | London 

For over 190 years, celebration suppers and treasured family gatherings have all been held within Simpson’s in the Strand’s historic walls. The beautiful Grand Divan, with its twinkling chandeliers, pristine table cloths and delicate piano playing in the background provides the perfect backdrop for important occasion dinners.

The Master Cook Adrian Martin has delved into the history books to create the latest ‘Bill of Fare’ which reflects back upon the steadfast dishes from the restaurant’s past –  such as Native Lobster Thermidor and Duck and Pork raised pie – recovers dishes, techniques and ingredients that were once commonplace. The Sommelier will also be able to advise upon the finest English Sparkling Wine to toast to the graduate including Sussex specialities such as Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs and regional favourites from the likes of Coates and Seely and Hush Heath.

This landmark London restaurant is testament to its illustrious past and a cherished experience for generations to come.

HOME | Leeds 

Graduation is a wonderful occasion and the perfect time to enjoy a celebratory meal at Leeds favourite HOME. Behind an unassuming door above a busy Leeds street, HOME is a haven of warm hospitality, bold seasonal flavours and relaxed refinement.

Launched in 2017 by Masterchef semi-finalist Elizabeth Cottam and Michelin-starred Head Chef Mark Owens, HOME’s unique take on fine dining is a a multi- course exploration of the season. A love for the surrounding landscape and the produce it provides is the source of inspiration for ‘The Season’ tasting menu at HOME. Liz and Mark nurture a warm, welcoming environment in both the restaurant and the kitchen, creating a wonderful dining experience that their guests will remember fondly forever.

‘The Season’ tasting menu is presented in around 10 dishes and is priced at £65-£90 per person. On lunchtimes and weekday evenings HOME offers ‘The Selection’, a condensed menu of ‘The Season’s’ dishes available for £45- £55 per person. Accompanying wine flights are available.

Quaglino’s Bar | London  

Quaglino’s Bar, synonymous with style, glamour and great cocktails since its establishment in 1929, is the perfect destination to celebrate London’s 2019 graduates.

Earlier this year, the team launched Q Bar menu in the heart of its stunning restaurant that serves up bottled classic cocktails inspired by the greatest artists and songs of the past that are perfect for groups to share. Titled All Time Classics, this expertly devised menu by Marco Sangion (bar manager) and Federico Pasian (head mixologist) features 10 bottled cocktails, served by the glass or by the bottle. The serves are  presented in the form of an upcycled wine bottle, in keeping with Quaglino’s focus on sustainability, each with its own uniquely designed label, and every concoction created for the menu is a twist on the most iconic classic cocktails, with highlights including:
