WHERE TO GO NOW: DEEPDALE FESTIVAL 2023

Next month there is a gathering of incredible folk music talent at Deepdale Camping & Rooms, for the four days of Deepdale Festival 2023.  Yet again Chris Haycock, the festival director, has put together an amazing programme for this small but perfectly formed music festival on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.

Deepdale Festival takes place at Deepdale Camping & Rooms and Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale from 21 to 24 September. More than forty acts perform across three stages from Thursday evening to Sunday evening.  Local artists have the chance to share stages with nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

The headliners this year include Mercury Award nominated Kathryn Williams on Thursday, striking Norwich band Morganway on Friday, critically acclaimed The Leisure Society on Saturday, and musical odyssey India Electric Co. on Sunday.

Thursday evening, Kathryn Williams is joined by Polly Paulusma.  These highly acclaimed artists are currently touring together and have collaborated creatively many times.  Local musician Matt Watson opens the Festival with both with his original solo work and his alter ego The Secret Helicopters.

Friday, there’s live music all day.  Morganway are joined by Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers), Jacob & Drinkwater, Bleeding Hearts, Georgia Shackleton, John Ward Trio, India Arkin and many others.

Saturday, The Leisure Society are joined by Cut Throat Francis, Chris Cleverly, Annie Dressner, local singer/songwriter Jess Morgan, Norfolk super group Kitewing, Nic Zuppardi, Adam Clark, The Feathered Thorns and many others.

Sunday, India Electric Co. are joined by Mishra, Robert Vincent, Bring Me The Hearts, Aaron Horlock & Nick Goode, Amelia Coburn, Alton Wahlberg, Brian Stone & The Masters of None, AWMTV and many others.

Other than great music, you can start the day with yoga and singing bowls meditation.  There is massage, free poems, jamming sessions, song writing workshops, star gazing with King’s Lynn & District Astronomy Society, and of course the beautiful surroundings of Burnham Deepdale.

Each day Moon Gazer Ale will serve their award winning ales, local ciders and a large range of drinks.  The Wood Fired Food Co, The Nest, Currylicious and Fanny Adams Catering will be supplying great street food, along with Deepdale Cafe.  There will be festival shopping at Dalegate Market, including the regular shops and pop up shops.

If you haven’t danced to a band in the Brick Barn or chilled in the Orchard, then maybe 2023 is the year to try this fabulous way to enjoy live music.  Accommodation on site is full, but Day Tickets (For individual days & the whole festival) are available on the festival website – www.deepdalefestival.co.uk
