The wait is over, MCM Comic Con, the ultimate celebration of pop culture, is back with bang with three hotly anticipated shows rolling into London twice, in May and October, and rounding off with Birmingham in November.
Great news for curious newcomers and seasoned fanatics alike, you won’t have to wait long for the first MCM hit as the UK’s most exciting pop culture shows will be soaring into London’s ExCeL as soon as 27th – 29th May. Not just for serious gamers, comic book collectors or highly-skilled cosplayers, there truly is something for everyone to discover with a jam-packed programme of celebrity talent, unforgettable panels, live performances, independent creators and more!
Hot off the press, ultimate British Pro wrestling champions and stars Bullit, Alexander Roth, Simon Millar, Claudia Bradstone, Charlie Biggs and Clive Jackson will be letting guests in on all the top tips and tricks for becoming a wrestling superstar at their exciting panel. Pick away at their 50 years of combined experience to see why they are the best of the best. For the bookworms out there, meet some of the most inspiring literary legends with authors Laura Sebastian, Lucy Holland, Rym Kechacha, T.L. Huchu, Will Carver, Eve Smith and Matt Wesolowski all gracing the MCM floor with exclusive panels and singings.
Bringing the Summer festival vibes, MCM Comic Con May will see the return of the awesome MCM Fringe Stage, offering a smorgasbord of incredible live music, laugh out loud comedy and performing arts all in the great outdoors. Be transported back to the 19th Century with Old Time Sailors singing the very best Sea Shanty’s fit for the seafaring life. If that wasn’t enough, fans can showcase the star within by wowing the crowd in MCM’s very own Talent Show.
Looking to explore something a little different for the weekend? Why not grab your friends and delve into the Pop Asia section. A world where you can become an Origami pro with paper-folding magic by London Origami Society, try your hand at the unsung art of Manga drawing, get involved with performances by some of K-pop’s biggest artist, or discover the ancient sport of sumo wrestling with an appearance and live demonstration from the current British Sumo Champion! The options are limitless…
For the ultimate film and TV fans, fully immerse yourself into the silver screen with a replica of the Stranger Things set display ahead of the launch of season four in May. Or why not grab a photo op with the infamous Storm Troopers, become the most powerful Jedi Knight with the Silver Sabres combat academy, or try your hand at the greatest fictional sport – Quidditch.
Kicking off May half term with fun for all the family, climb into the Treehouse area and discover a world to keep the kids entertained all day including creative kids crafting, top-notch face painting, character appearances, colouring fun and more.
