Where to go now: ALBERT’S SCHLOSS LONDON

Hold on to your Lederhosen! Albert’s Schloss, the ultimate purveyor of Bavarian bliss, is landing in the heart of London this summer, and it’s bringing a whirlwind of Alpine escapades, cabaret extravaganzas, the best Bavarian beer selection in London and round-the-clock revelry currently unavailable elsewhere in the capital.

Following a £7 million investment, Albert’s Schloss, located in the iconic Trocadero on Shaftesbury Avenue, will open its doors on 4th July. This new day-to-night venue is a Alpine-inspired beer hall, bar, and restaurant with live entertainment seven days a week. Set over two floors with a spacious 18,000 square feet and room for over 600 guests, five bars, a stage for lively performances and an on-site bakery for delicious Bavarian treats, the new London venue will be Albert’s largest home yet and promises an alpine oasis of indulgence and pleasure.

Bier Palace and the ‘Big Six’

Known for its beer credentials, Albert’s Schloss will offer Londoners the best selection of quality Bavarian and Bohemian beers. Adorning the main bar will be stunning polished copper tanks, offering guests fresh, unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell, delivered direct from the brewery in Pilsen each week. Guests can even ‘Push For Pilsner’ using special on table buttons to order a foaming pint.

Central to its beer menu, Schloss will offer Munich’s ‘Big Six’: a classic line-up of the biggest and most well-known quality beers from the Bavarian capital, including Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, Hofbräu, Lowenbräu, Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu and a whole dedicated section reserved for Munich’s oldest brewery, Augustiner (1328), served by specially trained staff.

More of a cocktail and spritz person? There’s a bountiful number of seasonal and innovative quality drinks on offer, including the ‘Bacchus Barrel’, served in a Saint Bernard’s barrel with Bulleit bourbon, Merlot, Bärenjäger, lemon, and demerara, alongside the ‘Diamond Margarita’, with Altos Tequila, Briottet Rose, orgeat syrup, and lime juice. You can even enjoy a ski shot of 20 Schnapps, featuring a selection of flavours from its haus made authentic Schnapps range, served on a wooden ski to the table.

Alpine Cook Haus + Bakery

Pairing perfectly with your drinks, the Cook Haus offers all day dining, with a menu inspired by travels across the Black Forest, Alps, and Bavaria.

The menu serves up comfort food, such as its signature 12-hr brined, crispy Bavarian Schweinshaxe pork knuckle; a whole section dedicated to Schnitzels, including the indulgent Cordon Bleu schnitzel with Gruyère, prosciutto, wild mushrooms and brandy sauce; a selection of wursts; a sharing fondue; skillet-toasted sandwiches, and much more, all with a modern Schloss twist.

Breakfast is also on offer with a full line up, including the Bacon Kroissant with a house made croissant, slow cooked onions, gouda, Burford Brown fried egg, crispy shallots, chives, and curry ketchup, along with freshly baked goods made each morning from the on-site Bavarian bakery. If visiting at the weekend be sure to catch its Rise + Shine Breakfast Request line, a fun morning show giving guests the chance to pick their own playlist whilst enjoying their poached eggs and Bloody Marys. You can even get your breakfast plate read by the resident breakfast clairvoyant!
