Where to eat now: Feels like June

As the weather begins to warm (well, sort of), we decided to start to feel those summer vibes at Feels Like June, a Californian-inspired all-day dining destination, providing a range of small sharing plates, large dishes and innovative colourful cocktails, with bright flavours, summer feels and a Europe-meets-West Coast flair.

Located in pioneering lifestyle hotel brand and Ennismore design Tribe Hotel in Canary Wharf’s new and happening neighbourhood, Wood Wharf. The vibe is truly west-coast with an understated colour palette that perfectly reflects the natural beauty and warmth of the Golden state.

Once we made our way through the bright airy space with lush planting, past the striking oval shaped bar and a central kitchen, we were shown to our table by our fantastic waitress. She was both helpful and funny and a total credit to the restaurant.

With a farm-to-table ethos, this West Coast-inspired eatery uses organic ingredients supplied by local farm partners to create its delicious, recognisable versions of California classics. We started with the crispy buttermilk chicken wings with Sriracha mayo, the Mac and Cheese (with truffle oil, of course!) plus a very generous portion of pardon peppers.

With not much room left, we continued with the skirt steak with peppercorn sauce and the FLJ smash burger and ate until we were thoroughly stuffed. The steak was tender and juicy and paired with the sweet potato fries and spicy broccoli was absolutely perfect. The burger (which we doubled and added bacon to!) was also very juicy and flavourful and although we couldn’t finish it, we enjoyed every bite.

With no room left we couldn’t indulge in the desserts but we will definitely be back to try some!
