The North Face – The Summer Base Camp

For more than 50 years, The North Face has dared to lead the world forward through exploration, and true to this purpose, has announced its new, free virtual summer camp programme. The family-targeted initiative runs from Monday 20th July to Friday 31st, bringing adventure to the home.

The Summer Base Camp created by The North Face athlete team is a fun-filled, educational project designed to equip campers of all ages with valuable knowledge for when the world is ready for exploring. Each week, members of the athlete team will provide an interactive activity through video tutorials for young campers and parents to complete at their own pace.

Academy Award-winning film director and professional climber, Jimmy Chin will be leading the way on Monday with a course in adventure photography. This will be followed midweek by professional rock climber and the first female to ascend Ambrosia, Nina Williams, offering her expertise in geometric designs and climbing champion Ashima Shiraishi rounding off week one with a lesson in snack making.

Week two will see mapmaking tutorials with ultra-runner, Coree Woltering; survival skills with climber, Manoah Ainuu; and lessons in backyard basecamp building from ski mountaineer, Hilaree Nelson.

Registration for the Summer Base Camp is open now on The North Face website where each activity will be unlocked on their designated day with prizes available for participants. The activities will continue to be accessible for the community through the end of the summer.
