What to wear now: REEBOK & COTTWEILER DROP THE ZIG 3D STORM

Reebok and Cottweiler, announce the release of the disruptive Zig 3D Storm. The new collaboration subverts the traditional spectrum of style that pits fashion and performance at opposite ends. The shoe takes inspiration from the idea of sunlight and transparency to create its own unique space between performance and the modern aesthetic.

First debuted at Cottweiler’s Paris Fashion Week SS20 presentation, the highly anticipated Reebok Zig 3D Storm will be available on March 27th. Arriving in two colorways, the 3D Storm combines the transformative power of the energy-return sneaker with Cottweiler’s striking fading gradient design.

Performance-focused details are prominent in the design elements of the 3D Storm, most notably in the molded mesh upper of the silhouette which was influenced by track spikes. Cottweiler was inspired to incorporate the theme of their collection into the distinctive zigzag-shaped sole of the Zig, creating a sense of movement with dynamic design lines throughout the shoe. Cottweiler’s addition of an asymmetrical pocket attached to the laces of the shoe is a nod to the runners of the early 2000s before shorts had pockets for your house keys.

This latest collaboration also includes the Cottweiler for Reebok apparel collection, which features archive silhouettes that have been reworked in natural materials like silk and linen, with special care taken to minimize hardware and plastic elements.

Reebok’s ZigTech technology, originally introduced on 2010’s Zig Pulse silhouette, set a new standard for innovation, function and disruptive design. Transcending its performance-based origin, Zig Kinetica fuses innovative sport tech with sleek style to create a highly functional shoe that seamlessly transitions from gym to street. The latest release of the Zig Kinetica by Cottweiler embodies that energy while taking new form in the Zig 3D Storm – capturing the transformative energy that is returned with every step.

Zig Kinetica is built around a distinct zigzag-shaped, energy-return sole that channels and returns kinetic energy using a three-part system:

  • Floatride Fuel: Energized bouncy foam helps deliver cushioning feel for everyday needs
  • Zig Energy Shell: Channels and returns kinetic energy, while providing a bold aesthetic
  • Zig Energy Bands: A unique outsole that expands and contracts like a rubber band to provide spring-like response

Zig 3D Storm drops on Reebok.co.uk on March 27th, 2020. For more information, please visit Reebok.co.uk/zig or @Reebok on social.
