To mark the back-to-school season, Kickers and JD have teamed up with Nando’s to offer an exclusive voucher with any purchase of Kicker’s back-to-school shoes. On purchase, customers will receive a £5 voucher to spend in any Nando’s restaurant, the go-to afterschool hangout. This multi-brand partnership brings together three iconic names embedded within UK youth culture, and each a leader within their own field.
Kickers, a brand known for its iconic silhouettes that take you from your youthful school days into adulthood have been synoptic in British fashion & school culture for 50 years. The brand’s longstanding partnership with global retailer JD continues to grow each year with a consistent back-toschool collection that consumers can rely on.
The addition of Nando’s to the back-to-school campaign for 2023 re-establishes the partnership in current youth-culture trends, whilst bringing in an offer for consumers with 10,000 vouchers up for grabs, available both online and in-store at JD stores across the country whilst stocks last.
To capture the high-energy spirit of the campaign, the focus centred on those moments in-between study and after school when students relax with friends and enjoy hobbies, from creating TikTok videos to jumping on a bike and exploring your hometown.
Also making its debut for the campaign is a spicy take on the iconic Kickers fleurette. Three limited edition Nando’s fleurettes have been reworked to showcase the renowned Nando’s PERi-ometer, a Hot tag, and Nando’s Barci logo. These limited edition pieces will be available on a first come first served basis at a small number of JD Stores throughout the UK.
Kickers have gone from strength to strength in recent years, growing their share within the Secondary School market by +79% (2018 – 2022) with the brand often being cited as the ‘premium tier of school shoes’ on social platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
The offer includes all school ages, with infant to junior collections included. For infants the range comprises both the Kick Hi matte black and the Kick Hi patent. The Kickers junior back to school collection features the classic Kick Hi and Kick Lo, alongside the Tovni Sneaker, all offered in black leather.
“We’re excited to partner with two iconic names who are at the height of youth culture. The campaign plays homage to the authentic after-school hangouts for our teen consumer, because what’s better than grabbing a Nando’s with your mates after school.” – Simon Breckon, Kickers Brand Director
The campaign will launch on Tuesday 22nd August 2023, available exclusively from JD, online and instore
