What to wear now: Honor watch GS Pro

For the past month, I have been trying out Honor’s new wearable offering – the GS Pro. More rugged than its predecessor, it certainly is up for outdoor adventures and with the ridiculous 25-day battery life you can be totally focussed on your activities rather than finding a charger.

For me, this watch was a move from the Honor Magicwatch and you can certainly feel the difference; firstly it’s larger and feels more robust, it experienced a few knocks and bumps whilst I was wearing it but both the watch face and strap have suffered no marks or dents. Secondly, the software offers a lot more – including stress monitoring and breathing exercises to complement the existing working out and activity options – excellent for fitness fans.

Even those who are not planning daily workouts (myself included), this watch is a great way to make your life easier. I no longer have to walk around with my phone in my hand, so as soon as a message comes through I can quickly check on my watch to see if it is urgent. This is even more useful as the weather gets colder and my hands stay firmly in my pockets and gloves whilst out and about.

Another couple of new features I love is;

  1. The remote shutter for the camera, so you can set up your phone to take a distant selfie or group picture and use your watch to capture it.
  2. Controlling music – skipping tracks, pausing, changing the volume or looping a track is so much easier, especially when you’re on the move.

This is now a firm tech favourite of mine and teamed with my Huawei phone is it a match made in heaven.
