What to eat now: Uber Eats launches ‘Festival Favourites’

Summer festivals may be cancelled, but now music lovers can get their street food fix on Uber Eats as some of the most popular festival food vendors join the app for a limited time.

The launch comes as new research reveals just how much the nation loves a festival. Indeed, two fifths (41%) of festival-goers would skip work to attend a festival if their favourite band was playing, over a quarter (29%) would prioritise attending a music festival over a holiday abroad and 15% would even skip a wedding to attend a festival.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, of those who were looking forward to attending a festival this year, Glastonbury was the one that festival-goers would miss most (44%).

Respondents also crowned David Bowie the top Glastonbury headliner, followed by Coldplay, Oasis, Rolling Stones and Adele.

Aside from the music, festival-goers most look forward to the atmosphere (72%), spending time with friends and family (54%) and the food options (45%).

When it comes to eating at festivals, 44% admit they’re more adventurous with their food choices than they normally are. One fifth (19%) of respondents look for something spicy in their festival meals while a third (36%) simply want something that won’t be messy.

Burgers are the most popular festival food, with BBQ, wraps, bacon butties and nachos also making the top five.
