What To Eat Now: Leon

Naturally Fast Food restaurant LEON is blooming into spring with a brand new fibre-filled menu designed to boost the gut and have you feeling Sunny Inside. New items are launching across the Breakfast and All Day menus, as well as the return of some revitalised classics.

The spring menu is driven by gut health and LEON’s most forward-thinking yet. This spring, LEON is looking to hero food that tastes good, and does good too; the seasonal dishes underscore LEON’s commitment to be kind to our guts and even kinder to the planet.

Up first is the breakfast menu which will introduce probiotic, live yoghurt pots. Turmeric Honey, Banana & Bee Pollen is anti-inflammatory, while Summer Berry & Pomegranate is fibre-boosting. Both are delicious bowls of sunshine goodness. The menu’s savoury side offers up a high powered protein punch with the return of  the Smoked Salmon and Avocado Egg Pot. LEON is also offering a morning kickstart in the form of their new Power Hour prebiotic and probiotic smoothie, designed to fuel the body with gut goodness. The smoothie is packed full of wholegrain oats, banana, cacao, live yoghurt, blueberries, blackberries and dates.

On the All Day menu, LEON is launching three exciting new salads. Burrata, Greens & Grains is a tasty Italian-inspired combination of burrata, a zingy lime and jalapeño dressing with grains, green chickpeas, broccoli and finished with gut-loving pink kraut. Another new salad will be making its debut, the Hot Smoked Salmon, Lime and Jalapeño salad, lightly spiced and crunchy it comes with pickled peppers.

A spring menu wouldn’t be complete without a spring chicken. LEON will be serving up their Jewelled Harissa Chicken, served bejewelled with pomegranate seeds and green chickpeas and coated in a warm harissa dressing. complete with red cabbage, green beans and crunchy chilli chickpeas.

In addition to the new menu items, LEON has future-proofed some of their old favourites. Back by popular demand is the Moroccan M*atballs which are making a hotly-anticipated comeback, and this time they’re plant-based. The meatballs have been a LEON staple since 2004 but have had a major meatless makeover for spring – better for you and better for the planet. The plant-powered menu will also introduce the Pink Peppercorn Ste*k Wrap, with vegan steak wrapped in Khobez flatbread, made creamy with pink peppercorn mayo, smoked garlic aioli and served with caramelised onions and peppers. All the flavours of a steak sandwich, with all the kindness of plant based steak.

The drinks fridge will also get a refresh with the arrival of MOJU’s Hot Shot, get your glow with this fiery blend of fresh-pressed orange, turmeric, ginger and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. For a more indulgent hot beverage option, LEON has updated its rainforest-saving coffee menu with a sweet splash of caramel-vanilla, the Salted Caramel  Blondie Latte will be available this spring.

Speaking about the spring menu, Managing Director of LEON restaurants, Glenn Edwards said: “We are so excited to launch this new menu which places gut health at the heart. This is a menu that features so much colour, variety and flavour which is key to a happy and healthy gut. This menu launch feels so special – it’s allowed us to revitalise and reinvent a number of LEON favourites with a kinder twist. This is crucial to LEON’s mission to create naturally Fast Food that tastes good, does good and is kinder to the planet.”

The Spring menu items will be available for takeaway, click & collect and delivery, so why not give it  a try.
