What to drive now: Ford Edge

With the year coming to and end, we can finally wave 2018 away in our rear-view mirrors and look forward to 2019, and what better way to do so than with celebrating the release of yet another Verge favourite: the new Ford Edge, set to be released in January.

We were lucky enough to get to go to press trips all over the world but this one will take some beating! Our CEO Andre Dixon travelled to Are in Sweden to experience ice driving, visiting Sweden’s largest waterfall, viewing the Northern lights and a night-time quad bike ride.

With the chicest look, smoothest ride and the latest technology, there’s so much to fall in love with. Ford has thought of everything, from safety to convince there’s no stone that has be been left unturned. Whilst driving this car you are in full control with responsive steering, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering technology and your own driving assistant with Ford Co-Pilot360. Never worry about blind spots again with the Radar sensors that helps you see those hidden vehicle that can seem to appear out of nowhere!

Available in 8 colours, the Ford Edge is both beauty and beast. With top engineering including a precision 4-cylinder 2.0.L diesel EcoBlue engine, Rotary Gear Shift and 8-speed automatic transmission – all of which make a flawless driving experience with power and productivity on and off road.

When looking at SUV’s it’s important that there’s a strong element of comfort for all the family. Ford has ensured to keep us all on our toes with the highest quality materials leaving us all feeling like royalty. Connectivity is a must especially with everyone desperate to get online and with Ford’s FordPass Connect, it’s easy to please everyone on those long road trips. For those times that you want to be Beyonce, each Ford Edge includes B&O, a tailor made speaker audio system with 1000 watts of pure Wembley area style impact, wind machine not included.

Of course, when everyones on board, the most important thing is safety and the Ford Edge anticipates not only your next mood but others around you. The Pre-Collison assists helps prevent accidents and keeps everyone safe and sound, even if you’re known for not being the best on the road (don’t worry, your secret is safe with us).

Plus if you’re travelling with all the crew, the new Ford Edge has impeccable space for those small and tall, enabling pure leg stretch time. The only issue is, there’s no excuse to not do the airport run as the removable tow bars and roof rails make enough room for a ton of luggage, so be aware of the inevitable requests before posting your new car to Instagram!

The Ford Edge comes in three models; Titanium, ST-Line and Vignale, a model perfect for everyone and everything. We’re obsessed with this car and we just know you’ll love it just as much as we do!
