What to drink now: Beavertown Brewery

Yes 2020 may need a slight rewrite but let’s be honest – things are looking up. It’s getting warmer, you can finally get a haircut and Beavertown Brewery is launching Beavertown SOS. A beer delivery service powered by what3words that will hand deliver you and your friends a free chilled Beavertown beer while you’re catching rays in the park.

August is usually a month for sun worshipping, hitting your out of office and jumping on a plane to an excotic location. Except, well this year no one is flying anywhere. Instead we’ll be catching rays lying on picnic blankets in our local parks. Which is why Beavertown Brewery will be trialling Beavertown SOS in East London’s Clissold Park on Saturday, 8th August between midday and 4pm.

Getting involved is easy. All you need to do is download the what3words app, take a selfie of you and your friends in Clissold Park using the app and then share that selfie to Instagram or Twitter tagging Beavertown Brewery in your post with the hashtag #BeavertownSOS. what3words will automatically place a three word description of your location over your selfie. The Beavertown SOS team will then use those three words to pinpoint your exact location and hand deliver you a chilled Beavertown beer.

what3words is a new addressing system that has given every 3m square in the world a unique three-word identifier. For example drums.tasty.atoms is a square in the middle of Clissold Park.

Beavertown Brewery are beginning the service as a trial in East London initially and if it’s a success they may look to bring it to other areas in the UK. The brewery is encouraging beer fans to let them know where they should go next by contacting them on the Beavertown social channels.
