WAGAMAMA LAUNCH NEW PLANT-BASED DISH, THE LION’S MANE ‘STEAK’ BULGOGI FOR VEGANUARY

It wouldn’t be a new year without wagamama once again changing the game by bringing a brand new plant-based bowl to their menu, getting both veggies and even the most-devout meat eaters excited to try the brand’s latest innovation in the food space. This year, wagamama is satisfying those steak cravings by creating a plant-based version that shines a spotlight on one of the plant-world’s most powerful players: the mighty mushroom.

Bringing texture, flavour and a seriously meat-like look, is the new lion’s mane ‘steak’ bulgogi, launching on 3rd January, as part of the mind. body. bowl campaign, dedicated to exploring the interconnection between the mind, body, and soul, through the activities we partake in, and bowls we nourish ourselves with. The dish shows the incredible things that can be done with whole plant foods, proving that eating plant-based doesn’t need to mean a compromise on enjoyment. Combining this with wagamama’s signature umami flavours, the brand has created a dish perfect for a new year; whether you’re doing veganuary, trying to eat more plants, or just wanting to try something new.

The mind. body. bowl campaign sets out to lift the low moods expected in January by celebrating the power of nourishing the whole human entity, and encouraging us all to make small, informed choices to our daily living to create long term habits that help us live and feel better. wagamama will be collaborating with 3 iconic content creators to bring each element of the mind, body, and bowl to life.

Gaz Oakley, a plant-based chef and cookbook author from Cardiff, Wales will cover the mind element of the campaign, showing us the benefits of getting outdoors a little more often, and how you can bring nature to your plate. He was described in The Daily Telegraph as “a star of the meat-free world”. For the body element is Savannah Sachdev who will showcase how movement, whether for an hour or just ten minutes, can bring positivity and energy to carry through the day.  Bringing the bowl element is Alfie Steiner whose content took the internet by storm and converted hundreds to engage with plant-based cooking. Alfie will share how we can maximise the power of plants and champion the joy of variety and nutrients through plant-based eating.

Kay Bartlett, chief marketing officer says; “This January, we’re delighted to launch our new lion’s mane mushroom ‘steak’ dish to excite all guests, whilst also broadening the conversation beyond vegan eating alone with our mind. body. bowl campaign.”
