Verge’s Artist of the Week: Disclosure

Earlier this week EDM duo Disclosure released their sophomore album, Caracal, following the worldwide success and international tour of their first album Settle. This new album is packed with as many great dance beats as the first as well as collaborations with artists we cannot get enough of.

Disclosure consists of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence out of Surrey, Eng. They first Debut their music with the single “Offline Dexterity” in 2010 and then a year later “Carnival”/”I Love…That You Know” in 2011. After a few more single releases and national air time, the duo received their first UK hit in October 2012 with “Latch” featuring the sultry vocal stylings of Sam Smith. After that they just kept their momentum going with more top 10 singles, album releases, festival appearances, and in 2013 they embarked on a worldwide tour of more than 40 European, American, and Canadian cities including many high profile music festivals in the states.

Since ending that tour, the group began working on their next album. The album, Caracal, released last friday featuring the vocals of Sam Smith (“Omen”), Gregory Porter (“Holding On”), The Weeknd (“Nocturnal”), and one of our personal favourites Lorde (“Magnets”) for which the music video was released 3 days ago catching the attention of many towards these artists and especially Disclosure’s new album.

The band is currently on tour in the states until the end of October, so keep an eye out for UK tour dates!
