Last night, the Verge team met the music megastar Mia at the UK Premiere of Steve Loveridge’s heartfelt, touching and up close and personal documentary Matangi/Maya/Mia.
The documentary follows the music legend over 22 years of her life, with exclusive and personal footage of the rapper’s childhood, her rise to fame and her perspective on the controversies sparked over her music, public appearances and political activism.
We were lucky enough to speak directly with MIA and Director Steve Loveridge, who have been close friends since meeting at Central St Martins College in London, about their friendship and what we can expect from the film.
Check out how we get on at the UK Premiere of Matangi/Maya/Mia right here!
Matangi/Maya/Mia is released in UK cinemas on 21st September by Dogwoof
