Verge Meets Ant Deko

With influences stemming from Lady Dynamite and Skepta, and writing skills grown from Lovers Rock and Nineties R&B it’s no wonder the latest rap star to step out of North London has everyone talking.

Antoine Campbell, better known as Ant-Deko, likes to think of himself as a post-modernist Rap Artist with a distinctive voice and strong wit which is prominent on all his tracks.

Born in Tottenham, North London into a musical family, with his father as a DJ, it’s no wonder from an early age he was surrounded by different styles of music helping develop his passion and later giving him the confidence to step into the realm of writing his own bars.

He has put the work in, making rounds and showcasing his talent in bars and clubs around Tottenham and Harringey, he has gained a strong following and is now working his way up the ladder within the UK scene, hoping to cement his name amongst some of the other high flyers within the industry

Monday 20th March marks the next step in his journey with the release of his latest track “Right Hand Man”, with a dark tone and deeper message it will be interesting to see the next part of the story for Ant-Deko.

When we caught up with the man himself he had big ambitions and hopes to find himself on a stage at Wireless Festival this time next year, “Finsbury Park is my local park, the park I’ve been going to since I learnt to walk, I see myself doing a few festivals, but that one would mean the most!!”

Ant-Deko’s single “Right Hand Man” is released on Monday 20th March.
