On June 11th 2018, PlayStation’s third best-selling exclusive game broke the news about long-awaited sequel at E3 2018. The first instalment of the series was one of the most awarded games of all time, achieving over 240 ‘Game of the Year’ awards with a humongous 10 million copies sold on the ‘PlayStation4’. Naughty Dog – creators of the well-known ‘Uncharted’ series, deliver the well-deserved sequel ‘The Last of us Part II’ with incredible cinematics, hard-boiled and well-improved gameplay and chock-full of tearful events and down to earth moments of the grim world.
The game begins five years after the events of the first game with 19-year-old Ellie as the game’s major role. Joel makes a noble return as Ellie’s guardian, watching over her as a slowly-aging old man. The trailer is vague to what Ellie is angry about but she is planning on taking red-blooded, hard-driving and fierce action to the matter. An interesting moment in the reveal trailer was when was Ellie playing the guitar surrounded by a pile of corpses, after wrapping up her melody she responds to Joel’s question “What are you doing kiddo, are you really going to go through with this?” with “I’m going to kill every last one of them”. Even with no knowledge of what Ellie is mad at, it’s very clear revenge will step as the bottom line in ‘The Last of Us Part II’.
There is currently no official release date for the game which will be exclusively on PlayStation4, but hopefully we’ll catch one soon for this returning masterpiece.
