We’re very lucky here at Verge; we get to have fun in some of the worlds top locations and visiting Malta was no different. We were fortunate enough to have an incredible stay in Malta and we just had to tell you all about our extraordinary, sometimes crazy, adventures.
Now, it’s a known fact that the Holiday begins and ends with the hotel. The hotel you choose can have a serious impact on the rest of your stay. If you hate the hotel, chances are you’ll bring a serious downer to the rest of the vacation. Fortunately enough for us, we stayed in the incredible Seashells Resort at Suncrest, which had pretty much everything you could ask for. With over 371 double/twin and deluxe rooms to choose from, there’s no way that this resort can bring a downer to your Malta break. If you’re planning to stay in ultra style there are even some beautiful penthouses to choose from – who could say no to that?
Not too sure about anyone else but we take food really seriously and a hotel with bad food can really ruin a trip. But we were very grateful to see that there was a selection of delicious breakfasts and lunches on offer for us, which we did not hesitate to try. Nothing says summer getaway more than a BBQ, and we had a great time trying some incredible Maltese dishes grilled to our delight.
Not everyone enjoys being lazy on holiday, so for the more active vacationers there is a brilliant selection of sports and entertainment available at your leisure. Whether you come as one or with your family, there are activities for every age; including a large panoramic swimming pool, kids splash pool and a water slide pool for causing huge waves. Now if you prefer the calmer side to the water, then an all seawater adults pool is ready for you whenever you are (if you can sneak away, that is). Enjoy a wide range of stimulating activities like table tennis, video games and even Jet-ski, surfing and sailing lessons for those who want to be one with the water. We started to wonder if they were reading our minds as they even had a gym to get rid of that BBQ guilt that we became a bit too familiar with.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, there’s still a ton to get up to whilst exploring the beauty of Malta and it’s culture. From history to spa’s to nightlife, Malta pretty much has everything you’re looking for. If you’re not into lounging around on the beach or by the pool (or if you forgot to bring your beach bod with you), then there are a wide variety of events and festivals for you to attend. Whether you’re with the family or exploring on your own, there’s always something for you to do here. With the weather pretty much always smiling down on us, we couldn’t help but take complete advantage of all that was at our fingertips. We geeked out about the incredible ancient historic sites, such as the Three Cities and the Hypogeum, and then squeezed in enough time to try some of Malta’s finest restaurants for that special cultural zest that you could only find in here.
As we briefly mentioned earlier, there was a lot of BBQ guilt, so rock climbing and deep water soloing was deeply appreciated. With the Maltese islands being known for having some of the top diving destinations in the world, why wouldn’t you want to climb really high above the sea and dive in? If not then you’ll definitely want to watch!
Everyone enjoys being a big kid. Whether you’re 18 going on 10, everyone loves a great theme park. Luckily enough for us Malta knew our weaknesses and gave us a number of theme parks to choose from. We owned our childhood behavior with pride!
If you want to put the ID you brought with you to use, then Malta’s nightlife is one of Europe’s finest. With the weather always on your side, feel free to spray your fake tan and enjoy the idea of wearing white without it turning transparent in the rain. Indulge in the possibility of not having to freeze on the way home and avoiding the dusty tube/bus rides back to student housing. Even if you’re just at enjoying a drink with the bestie Malta will not disappoint. Open air clubs and seafront bars are available at your disposal until the wee hours of the morning.
