Verge Loves: Elle Cato

This week we got to hear the distinctive, soulful sounds of Elle Cato as she performed an amazing set at Crazy Coqs in Brasserie Zedel. Her unique sound brings soul, jazz and RnB together creating a truly uplifting experience.

She sang through a great setlist which included both originals and covers plus she brought on a couple of friends to duet with her – Miguel “Swift Lee” Mansfield and Andrea Grant (of Strictly Come Dancing fame). Her own songs from her album were a joy to hear but her listening to her hilarious anecdotes between songs about her life, divorce, kids and partner really brought the songs alive and gave them context.

Make sure you check out her new track – Going to Hell.

Elle is a vocal sensation, her current album I Am is a sophisticated retro-pop offering, flavoured with classic soul, jazz and blues.

From an early age, it was clear Cato would be a formidable musical force to be reckoned with. Her versatility enables her to confidently hone her unique style, paying dues to the exemplary divas from whom she drew inspiration. Currently touring with UK supergroup Jamiroquai, Cato takes time out to perform songs from her album.
