Could you tell us a little bit about your blog and how you got started? Â
Idle Lane was launched in September 2013 after coming up with the idea earlier on that year. Â It started as a hobby as I love fashion and beauty and would receive a lot of tweets and messages asking for fashion advice. Â I never thought it would turn into what it has but it’s so good to have a hobby turn into a career.
Where do you draw influence from for your blog?
I’m influenced by all sorts of things. Â Living in London my whole life I am influenced by all the different cultures and styles I see everyday. Â London is so diverse and it’s so easy to be influenced by things I see around me everyday.
What does a day in the life of Danielle look like?
Everyday is completely different, Â I usually try to reply to my emails first thing before starting my day which will consist of meetings, photo shoots and blog post prep. Â I love that everyday is different, I’ve never liked the thought of doing the same thing day in, day out.
What celebrities would you consider your style icons?
I love the style of people like Olivia Palermo, she’s so elegant but pushes fashion boundaries at the same time which I love. Â I also love the style of celebrities such as Beyonce and Rihanna – they wear exactly what they want and set trends without intending to. Â The best dressed celebrities I tend to find are those who truly dress for themselves and look comfortable in their outfits rather than some that may just be following a trend or fad.
What are three pieces in your wardrobe you can’t live without?
This is a tough question, but definitely a leather jacket. Â I’ve got a few but my main go to one is from Burberry. Â I also love my jeans, again, I couldn’t choose from just one pair but most of mine are from Topshop although I recently discovered Edwin of Shoreditch which also do great denim. Finally, my final thing I probably can’t live without is my handbag, Â last December I bought a Givenchy bag which Im very protective over! Â I like to invest in good shoes, bags and jackets, I don’t have loads but those that I do have I like to look after and wear on special occasions.
What London shops would you recommend to visitors?
I think most people who want to shop in London go to Oxford Street which is the ‘go to’ for high street shops like Topshop, Zara and H&M.  I personally love shopping on Carnaby street and also there are some great boutique shops in North West London, around Westbourne Grove and that sort of area.  Alternatively you have shops on Brick Lane and in the Shoreditch area.  The great thing about London is that there is something to suit everyone.
What does ‘street style’ mean to you?
Street Style to me is what people are wearing on a day to day basis, Â It’s usually quite a casual look that can be worn right throughout the day but can still vary massively.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
