Utility Warehouse Finds Smarter Way to Offset Holiday Spending

With summer holidays in full swing, household spending is once again on the rise. New research from Utility Warehouse shows families are spending over £600 more across the six-week break, with snacks, childcare, and day trips driving the increase. Offering a smarter way to take pressure off the budget, Utility Warehouse is helping customers cut back through bill-bundling and everyday cashback, though summer and beyond.

Utility Warehouse’s study of 1,000 UK parents found that families face an average of £611 in additional seasonal costs, with food and snacks alone accounting for £401. Parents are also spending close to £200 on day trips and £85 on holiday clubs, with 55% admitting they often can’t afford the extra outgoings. Many are already adjusting by bulk buying snacks or packing lunches, while over a third are using cashback or reward programmes to soften the impact. For most, the summer spike is difficult to avoid – and 88% of those surveyed said they’re actively looking for new ways to save.

The Cashback Card from Utility Warehouse offers one practical route forward. Customers can earn up to 10% cashback at over 55 major retailers including Sainsbury’s, B&Q and Alton Towers, and 1% back on all other everyday spending. Crucially, the cashback goes directly towards reducing monthly utility bills, allowing families to offset increased spending in real time. More than £1 million is paid out to customers every month.

Utility Warehouse is the UK’s leading multiservice provider, combining energy, broadband, mobile, insurance and more into one monthly bill. Customers benefit from bundled discounts the more services they take, with everything managed under a single account. Rather than relying on traditional advertising, UW grows through a nationwide network of Partners who recommend the service to friends, family and local communities.
