The United Nations campaign Girl Up gives a chance for youths to give a voice to some of the world’s hardest to reach girls.
Since Girl Up’s launch in 2010, it has gained over 350,000 supporters from 35 countries. These supporters range from students to CEOs to celebrities like Michelle Obama and Beyonce.
This campaign aims to empower marginalised young women, give them voice and allow them to become leaders for their generation. Funds from Girl Up give girls in developing countries access to safe places to live, develop new infrastructure, create community and business education, donate school supplies, and implement tutoring programs.
Getting involved is simple and rewarding. If you want to advocate for them on Twitter and Facebook, their website has links to pre-written text that post automatically for you. If fundraising is more your route, Girl Up has several fundraisers you can participate in: a birthday, sport, and custom fundraiser.
Registering with this campaign is free and gives you an opportunity to changes lives around the world.
