TreeDwellers, the UK’s treehouse specialist, will launch its first property in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds in March 2024. The seven unique properties, encased in timber and glass to emulate nature’s curves, are submerged within 1,700 acres of ancient woodland in Cornbury Park. Each features a fully functioning kitchen, living space with woodburning stove and one or two ensuite bedrooms, as well as an outdoor shower on the private terrace to deliver an unrivalled perspective of the forest floor below.
The brainchild of alternative accommodation guru and festival founder Tim Rees, TreeDwellers is intended to elevate the senses and encourage guests to move from the beta brainwaves of the high alert to the alpha brainwaves of the calm and restful. Guests can expect a whole host of hidden surprises within the trees to soothe the spirit and stimulate their creativity.
The UK’s first forest megaphone will be hidden among the trees to ease the transition. Guests can lie back cocooned in the nine-metre wooden structure, the largest in the world, and listen to the sounds and vibrations of the forest amplified around them.
“I am over the moon to introduce TreeDwellers to the UK. It’s been a long journey to bring this vision into a reality and I am thrilled to welcome guests into this extraordinary space. The woodland has long been a sanctuary for me and I am confident our guests will leave feeling relaxed, restored and inspired.”
Tim Rees, Founder and CEO of TreeDwellers
Seven uniquely designed treehouses in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Set within 1,700 acres of ancient woodland more than 1,000 years old.
Each property is sensitively designed to appear engulfed in the trees, hovering at three metres above the forest floor and completely private. The treehouses come with all of life’s luxuries, including the latest surround sound technoloy, freestanding bathtub, woodburning stove, and a tablet to connect guests with the TreeDwellers team.
Guests enjoy a hamper of local treats on arrival including a sample of the region’s finest cheese, tea and coffee by Missing Bean, Minor Figures oat milk and a bottle of sommelier selected wine.
An on site shop will be stocked with the daily essentials including locally sourced beer, wine and treats.
The specialist concierge team will be on hand to introduce guests to the local area, book private yoga classes, schedule in-room wellness treatments, recommend walking and cycling routes and direct guests to the best dining spots.
Guests will find the UK’s first forest megaphone, a nine-metre wooden structure designed to enhance the sounds of the forest, where guests can sit encompassed with the vibrations of bird song, wind through the trees, and listen to their animal neighbours. Guests are encouraged to be calm and quiet as they bathe in the forest audio – an activity increasing in popularity based on the Japanese experience of shinrin-yoku.
Specialist guided meditation tracks will be available via the in-treehouse Sonos sound system. A yoga platform will be available for guest use and a pagoda for woodland weddings.
Set within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, TreeDwellers is perfectly placed to explore the honey coloured countryside. Charlbury rail station serves London in less than 90 minutes and the property is a short drive from local hotspots Chipping Norton, Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford Farm Shop.
Prices start from £210 per TreeHouse per night – minimum two night stay.
