These historical events in music truly created mayhem. We’ll be discussing the top WTF moments that garnered a lot of attention in pop and music culture.

Pop culture is frequently influenced by those incredible, life-changing music moments that have everyone talking, tweeting, and streaming nonstop. These incidents not only brought down the internet, but they also permanently altered popular culture.

5) “Your Existence is a light 1”

Yikes. Harsh or not, you decide.

Renowned as “The Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd,” Anthony Nicholas Fantano is a distinctive and highly-spoken music reviewer who has gained recognition for sharing his thoughts on albums on his popular YouTube channel, “The Needle Drop.”

But not everyone will agree with your point of view, and “Drake” was one of these prominent people.mAt the beginning of this drama, Fantano gave Drake’s albums an extremely poor score and criticized his progression as an artist.

However, the situation escalated to a boiling point when a fake direct message involving a simple cookie recipe that Fantano made up as a joke was released for video.

Although fans and others found it humorous, Drake didn’t think the joke was all that amusing as he posted the real dm he wrote to Fantano on Instagram. Which Drake said and I quote, “Your existence is a light 1. And the 1 is cause you are alive, And cause you somehow wifed a Black girl. I’m feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence.”

Damn…

Many people felt the DM was unnecessary and very mean as they came to Fantano’s defence. Fantano reacted to the situation and described it as “a bit of a diss… a salty little DM. It was quite sad and unfortunate.”

4) 6ix9ine V.S Trippie Redd

The timeless tale of a friendship gone bad. Back in 2017, these two well-known rappers were actually good friends and even collaborated on the hit song “Poles 1469.”

However, Trippie Redd distanced himself from 6ix9ine after a tweet from an account claimed that the 6ix9ine was a paedophile. When 6ix9ine was 18, he went to a party in Harlem and participated in a sex tape, which he released online, involving a girl who was only 13 years old. In the video, 6ix9ine is shown holding the girl nude on his lap and smacking her behind while she performs oral sex on another man.

6ix9ine has stated that he was unaware of her age and never engaged in direct sexual contact. In 2015, he avoided jail time by accepting a plea agreement and receiving a term of community service and probation.

Trippie Redd said in an Instagram post that he does not associate with strange individuals which was a clear shot at 6ix9ine. From then on, the friendship went foul, with 6ix9ine and his gang attacking Trippie Redd and his crew in a New York, and Trippie Redd receiving earnings from 6ix9ine’s popular song ‘GUMMO’ and then mocking him about it.

Talk about bad blood.

3) Lil Uzi Vert’s 2018 Wireless Performance

Lil Uzi Vert is one of the most influential hip-hop musicians of the ‘Soundcloud Rap’ era. With many Billboard hit albums and singles, he was and continues to be a major figure in hip hop today.

Some, on the other hand, are not too fond of his views, particularly the one concerning satanism, which he has been reported to have supported. This time, it was his 2018 wireless performance in the UK that caused an uproar.

During the concert, he was about to perform the hit song ‘XO Tour Llif3’ when he paused to share an announcement with his fans and the crowd, informing them that they had entered the rapture and were all heading to hell.

Religious organisations strongly reacted to this, accusing him of endorsing satanism; yet, this would not be the last time.

2) The 2021 Astroworld Festival

One of the most popular artists in the world, Travis Scott dominates the charts and captivates his fans at concerts all over the globe. Travis has had highs and lows during his career, but the 2021 Astroworld Festival has got to be the lowest point in his career.

At the Astroworld Festival in NRG Park, Scott’s hometown of Houston, Texas, on November 5, 2021, there was a crush of people rushing towards the stage. At least 10 people lost their lives and hundreds were injured, and Travis was widely chastised and held responsible for the deaths. In some of the video clips, Travis Scott is shown performing in disregard of audience cries for him to stop, which appears to encourage those who blame him for the fatalities.

Soon after, the concertgoers filed a lawsuit. The consequences were so severe that Kristian Paredes, who suffered serious injuries during the performance, sought for $1,000,000 as compensation.

1) The Death of Juice WRLD

The passing of Lil Peep and XXXTENTACION was particularly painful for the music industry and their devoted followers who were closely following the SoundCloud rap scene. But the death of globally popular and respected hitmaker and lyricist Juice WRLD in 2019 was known as the “death of SoundCloud rap.”

Juice WRLD was widely recognised as one of the best modern hip-hop freestylers, and he regularly displayed this talent on Instagram, in interviews, and live performances.

Not only that, but his hugely successful albums “Goodbye & Good Riddance” and “Death Race For Love” as well as his well-known hit singles “All Girls Are The Same,” “Robbery,” and “Lucid Dreams” have had over a billion streams, proving that he was a beloved hitmaker.

So it was very sad when it was revealed that Juice WRLD had died suddenly from a drug overdose in 2019. Everyone was shocked because he was a highly talented rapper and musician with a lot of potential, and he just passed away at the age of 21.

The highly acclaimed posthumous album ‘Legends Never Die’ garnered favourable reviews and reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. In terms of singles and even non-single tracks, it also had tremendous success. “Come & Go,” “Life’s a Mess,” “Smile,” and “Wishing Well” all reached their peaks in the top 10, with the latter two even making it into the top five. Despite not being released as singles, two of the album’s tracks, “Conversations” and “Hate the Other Side,” also managed to make it into the Hot 100 top ten.

This remarkable accomplishment highlighted both the devastating loss of Jarad Higgins and the emotional resonance of his music.
