Top 5 UK festivals with Vauxhall

Verge was lucky enough to team up with Vauxhall for a summer extravaganza of fun, freedom and festival flower power! We had the envious job of driving the new Mokka to our top 5 festivals, so not only were the events fantastic – the journey was too.

Lovebox will always have a special place in our hearts. Not only does it serve up the best summer vibes; it has an amazing line up which is always fantastically abstract, plus some of the best festival snacks around (£5 for a real Italian pizza pie? Yes  please!).  This year we witnessed the powerful wisdom of Solange, the unique sounds of Kaytranada and, after a lifetime of waiting, the beautiful notes of Frank Ocean! We always leave Lovebox with peace signs and a face full of glitter- what else could you ask for?

If you’re into traveling, but not the outrageously far away kind, then Reading & Leeds will be your sanctuary. Just about far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of London; so if you’re a true Londoner, you’ll feel very well travelled. With no oysters or Ubers in sight, you can fully immerse yourself in all things R & L. From brilliant bands to hardcore house, R&L has everything you could want to satisfy your weekend needs; and if you’re not into that, then there’s always the 1xtra tent for all the right vibes.

Get in your car and grab the aux or sync the bluetooth because V Fest is worth the journey. With an impeccable lineup including P!NK and Jay Z, we were more than happy to take our bags to Chelmsford for a weekend of greatness. With great camping conditions, thorough safety precautions and an even better atmosphere, it was no question that V Fest would be in our top 5 for summer fun! It’s one of the later festivals, usually around mid August, so be sure to grab tickets early as we’re sure you won’t want to miss out.

Now although this is right in the heart of London, surrounded by the stress of city life, once you’re through those BST gates you’ll feel as though you’re miles away. Not only is it easy to get to, it’s also a ton of fun; and if you’re not into all of that camping stuff, then this is perfect for you! We fist-pumped the day away, as cheesy as that sounds, to some world class acts; including Kings of Leon and Green Day. BST definitely served some of the best feels a festival could serve, in the midst of all the summer heat, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there- especially with the convince of there being a McDonalds right near… to ease the pain for the morning.

Brighton stand up! We usually need no excuse to head down to the southern coast but Wildlife made it a bit sweeter. We traveled to down south not only for the banging chips, but for the equally special vocal cords of George Ezra and Rag N Bone Man. If you’re not a belting ‘Budapest’ lover, then feel free to rave to Shy FX and JME or even Crazy Cousinz. And finally, for the old souls, two words will have you buzzing: Chaka Khan. Don’t be too jealous, although we can’t lie and say it wasn’t the perfect way to spend a weekend and if you wasn’t there then that sucks… we can say that there is always next year.
