TIKTOK HASHTAGS INSPIRE ESCAPES TO TRENDING EUROPEAN CITIES

Brits looking to replicate the glamorous European trips they’re admiring on TikTok are being advised to book soon, as prices to top destinations are set to soar from January. That’s according to new data from travel app Hopper which has seen a huge spike in hotel and flight searches to the top trending cities on TikTok.

Searches for Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam and Krakow from the UK have exploded by up to 85% on Hopper’s app in November 2022 compared to last year.

Top trending hashtags TikTok Views Increase in flight and hotel searches on Hopper
#Amsterdam 6.9 billion +85%
#Berlin 20 billion +73%
#Milan 9.5 billion +39%
#Krakow 1.1 billion +27%

This has been inspired by popular posts by travel influencers including Three Day TravelWanderingPassportSara Caroline Bridgers and Purses & Planes.

But Hopper is urging travellers to act fast if they want to holiday like a TikToker, as December 2022 is the best time to book a trip to all four European cities. In fact, flight prices for a spring visit are set to jump between now and April, rising to 40% for Milan and 35% for Amsterdam, Berlin and Krakow.

Sebastien Texier, travel expert at Hopper said: “TikTok is fast-becoming our number one spot for travel inspiration as holiday-goers are keen to emulate the look of 120 billion viral travel videos on their next trip. With trending hashtags having such a big impact on searches for flights and hotels, increased demand is likely to have an impact on prices. To get the TikTok lifestyle without a hefty price tag, make sure to book smart. Setting price alerts for the destinations and dates you’re looking to jet off to means you’ll always know when to book to get the best deal on your holiday.”
