A seven-foot inflatable graveyard has left its Halloween rivals for dead with huge sales following an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, according to Argos. The leading spooky retailer has sold thousands of the glow-in-the-dark outdoor prop after it gave Holly and Phil a fright on the popular daytime show.

Presenter and mum-of-three Holly praised the fact the massive tombstone set “folds away to nothing” for easy storage but admitted “I don’t like grave-y things” after being confronted by a living ghoul in the shopping segment of the daytime show. The £40 inflatable set, which boasts eerie but colourful messages on a variety of blow up headstones, isn’t the only Halloween product to put the chills up shoppers this October.

A skeleton butler, available for just £35, is also levitating off the shelves, becoming one of Argos’s Halloween bestsellers. With demonic red eyes and a series of evil catchphrases, he makes for an appropriately ghoulish way to greet trick or treaters, though his bow tie and Einstein-esque hair make him scarily adorable.

The rising sales of Halloween products have been well documented by brainy researchers, with Mintel predicting Brits will spend £419m on Halloween goodies this year alone.

This year’s top five selling Halloween products at Argos:

1 – Seven-foot inflatable graveyard (£40)

2 – Six-foot inflatable ghost, bat, pumpkin and cat (£30)

3 – Halloween animated butler (£35)

4 – Light up ghost (£20)

5 – Large light-up pumpkin (£13)
