The Winter Townhouse has taken over on Soho’s Bateman Street, bringing a festive gin-focused experience to the heart of London. Open until 17th December, the townhouse offers a hideout from the bustle of the West End for one week only, where guests can explore, sip, and enjoy a series of curated seasonal experiences. The space combines countryside-inspired interiors with an intimate setting, creating a fittingly atmospheric backdrop for Christmas shopping and sipping.
The experience is laid out in mini experiences, with visitors welcomed by a dedicated host for the one-hour Christmas Gifting Experience – complete with a Festive G&T and access to a curated collection of Silent Pool Gin gifts. At the Personalisation Station, guests can embellish their purchases with bottle calligraphy, bespoke baubles, and carefully crafted gift wrapping. There is also a dedicated gin bar at hand, serving a limited-edition menu including the ‘Shere Delight’ cocktail, a warming Hot Toddy, and festive gin and tonics. Evening guests can partake in Martini Hour from 7pm to 8pm, where mixologists will be shaking up festive Silent Pool Gin Whisper Martinis.
Each room within the Winter Townhouse has a different focus, with the upstairs space designed for gifting, offering curated presents such as etched glassware, silk scarves, and signature gin expressions. Hidden behind a velvet curtain, a speakeasy hosts Martini Masterclasses twice daily, teaching the art of the perfect Martini with guided tastings. Guests can also leave their mark in the Wish Room, writing festive messages for a chance to receive Silent Pool Gin gifts.
Downstairs, a cinematic hideaway hosts screenings of The Holiday twice daily at 3pm and 6pm. Guests can settle in with a festive Silent Pool G&T, and popcorn from Joe & Seph’s while enjoying KEF XIO Soundbar audio for a fully immersive experience.
Tickets vary depending on the experience. Christmas Gifting Experiences run every hour, priced at £10 per person and include a festive G&T plus a £5 voucher for use in the retail space. Martini Masterclasses take place at 3pm and 5pm, priced at £25 per person, while Martini Hour is available daily from 7pm-8pm for £25, including two Martinis. Screenings of The Holiday cost £35 per person and include two festive G&Ts and popcorn.
Silent Pool Gin, founded in 2015 by Ian McCulloch, is distilled on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate in Surrey. The spirit is crafted using 24 botanicals inspired by the local landscape, including lavender, linden, and chamomile, with honey from nearby hives adding richness to its flavour.
