On what the team need to do heading into the Playoffs…
“It’s important to make sure everybody in this locker room is confident in what they are doing. That is my job, to make sure guys get open shots and they are comfortable in their game because in the playoffs you are going to need everybody to win.”
On his personal targets for the Playoffs…
“I do what I do every single night regardless of what anybody says, what they call it, or what they say. I’m just thankful. A lot of teammates in this locker room [and] teammates over the last couple years have made my job easy. I just try to do what I can to impact every facet of the game. I have said that every year, and I stand by it.”
On his teammates impact…
“Without my teammates, none of this is possible. They make my job very, very easy and I try to do the same for them. So I’m thankful for that group of guys in the locker room to be on my side, continuously putting out positive energy is always a great asset especially inside a team.
“It’s important to see where guys are most comfortable or what makes them uncomfortable. That’s the most important thing to watch – learning about your teammates, learning the things about them that you may not see throughout the game.”
On what it means to be competing in the NBA…
“I go out and compete every night and leave it on the floor. Each moment for me is a blessing. Each time I walk in this locker room and see my name up there is a blessing. That’s an unbelievable moment in itself. To be able to just wake up, have a job, have a jersey, have a name on your back. To me, that’s a blessing in itself and something I never even dreamed about as a kid.”
On getting the best looks for his teammates…
“A lot of teams load the paint and try to stop me from getting to the hole, so I try to use that to my advantage by drawing three or four people and finding open guys. That is what I try to do in the first quarter, set the tone early.”

On closing out the regular season…
“You still go a game at a time because we’re in a tight race for position, so it’s still one game at a time whilst still preparing for the Playoffs and trying to build momentum. You want to make sure everybody’s clicking, we got our rotations right and, we’re ready to go.
“We also need to stay engaged. With a lot of importance placed on the three in the league today, and you have to guard your three to one. That’s the main thing, staying engaged, knowing what’s at stake and the preparation.”
