THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT CHANGING HOW KIDS COOK, EAT, AND UNDERSTAND FOOD

A shocking recent study by the Food Foundation concludes that UK children are now shorter, sicker, and fatter than ever before as a direct result of poor diets, food poverty, and a lack of nutritional awareness.

Cook School are working directly with councils across the UK to provide vital information on and access to affordable, healthy recipes in Schools. They’re teaching children what a cheap, healthy diet actually looks like, alongside teaching the practical cookery skills needed to put this knowledge into practise.

The work that Cook School does is now more important than ever, and co-founder Amanda Grant would love to share the details of their current campaign with you. This week (w/c 24th June) they’re teaching 5,600 kids in secondary schools nationwide how to make a vegetarian meal from scratch. As well as the in-school session, students will have access to the recipe instructions, allowing them to recreate the meal at home and share their newfound skills with their wider family.  The campaign is supported by Linda McCartney Foods – Home (EN).
